"Slop" is a new term to describe content with little effort involved to make it addictive; this can be YouTube shorts, artwork, or other forms of media, such as the case with AI.

We will probably gonna run around in circles for a bit because chances are this will fall again into people discussing the validity of Generative AI content and the political section of the forum, and maybe sensible/offensive content?

Point is that the way I perceive the forum operates I don't think we will reach very productive resolutions

-possible obssession of your brain towards spiderman which cannot be as optimized beyond normal at the moment, which is not about the FBI hacking tool constantly helping out Nintendo 3DS hacking.
-electrons get used for some electronic instead of a rapier in fencing/HEMA/ARMA to make games run.

I recently defended a partially AI-translated post in the thread about the new GBA flash cart , much as I am opposed to generative AI and would greatly prefer it wasn't used, at least that was for the sake of translating a human-written post from Chinese, in the context of something very positive being contributed to the GBA community, and not just another shitpost. Surely we can do without the latter.

If you're concerned about the environmental impacts of AI, my contribution is a drop in the ocean. It's an issue the American government needs to face and realistically won't happen while Trump is in charge, something which I have no control over.

Ai farms have just as much environmental impact as CGi rendering farms or crypto farms, and nobody bats an eye at those. They can spare me their fake/misplaced outrage.
