You can create your own badges for folders in CHMM, right? Then I wonder why I'd need this crane game...

Well, every day you have a chance to practice and get more free plays, and(correct me if I'm wrong) you'll always get at least one free play daily from practice.
sometims there is a bonus play badge in the pratice game. BUT if you get a ll the badges in the practice game you do score free plays.

I've heard that the U.S. Version is $1 for 5 tries.

So basically 3 tries a day or buy 5 for $1.

more badges every day? holy shit x_x

After all the work I put into Mii plaza's puzzle boards or whatever that shit's called.

Remember the "Badge Collection Center" for Japanese consoles? This is now released in America (and Europe soon) as the "Badge Arcade", but you'll need to update to 10.3.
Is it limited to 10.3 because the badges only work on 10.3, or is is limited on 10.3 because of eshop access?

So, no one actually knows if it can be hacked or not and everyone is asking what is it when google exists.
Great thread guys!

ohhhh okay i will check it out when its released for me then

Another little thing, i speak for the japanese version and i think well be the same for the USE and PAL version, if you faill the one day pratice for obtain at least one free play (if you obtain a total of 10 badge in the pratice you get 1 free play, so if you are master skill with this type of thing you can get at least 3 free play and some badge in pratice have a special desaing on the back, if you get one of these you get one free play for sure with the blue one and 3 free play with the red one plus the possibile one free play you already obtain) you can retrye for try obtain the free play but i don't know if you can fail a second time and try again im sure only for one fail.

Okay so I just tested out Badge catcher on my AUS N3DS running 10.2.0
Everything works!
- Access the eShop using Hans
Enable Firmware Spoof
- Download and play the game normally from the home menu!

I also have a custom theme installed and it still works.
The badge catcher feature must have been implemented into the home menu from a previous firmware and unlocks when you have access to the app.

I have an NA old 3DS with 10.2 firmware, and I was also able access the eShop, download the app, and try out the various aspects of it without any issues. I read through the digital manual, and the one thing I want to mention is that the game seems to require an active internet connection to function, to the point that if you lose the connection you lose any plays remaining plus badges earned since your last save. Given that and other details I saw in the manual, it seems whatever badges or themes you've acquired are linked to your NNID, and I imagine hacking the game would be difficult as the app likely checks if your badge collection matches up with whatever info is kept on the server and purges hacked content.

I think unlocking the badges on your home menu outside of the game would be easier than trying to hack the game itself.

Since Nintendo announced the release I was looking forward to hacking this game lol

But since theres the need to be online I think its not possible to hack it sadly.

Would it be possible to still access the badges on ext data though? So that we could potentially place the badges via homebrew but it would obviously not be reflected in the app? Like sort of the same way we can install custom themes that have no affect on our 3ds theme centre/NNID purchases which are stored online

This was my idea as well. Hopefully @Rinnegatamante can come up with something
