Forsaken, so your app will be a backup_loader+sysMenu replacement pkg that will need a cios from WiiGator-Waninkoko project, is that correct?

Yeah I dont really mind the spam, doesnt bother me really. I got 6 PM's about testing it within 3 minutes of that post haha. WiiGator and I have been in contact and there is mutual respect for our projects between us. im trying to get my cSM, his custom apploader, and wanin's cIOS developed all together hand in hand with eachother to create the wii's first true "custom firmware".

Also i guess to try to mitigate the spam to my inbox, please do not ask to test it. the first release will be fruitful i promise, and soon (day-days) after Wiigator decides his gamma is ready for public beta round 3.

Cool performance indeed forsaekn, but...if i well understood your going to wait for the gamma to be released to release then your cSM ?? Well, i can't do nothing but respect your decency, i do have a great respect for WIIgator and Waninkoko 's work, but will your cSM be the ultimate form of backup loading ? i mean will we need in its final release to install other cIOS agan and again as Nintendo is releasing more and more secured IOS ? and more than you, Wiigator and Waninkoko walking hand in hand, it will be epic if you could work with coders which are working on BOOTMII, well, you already got a lot of work, an besides you have a social life...but then you wouldn't only create the first very Custom Firmware, but you would have created an OS itself !!!

Its a complete system menu replacement, it only requires cIOS. You can of course still use the backup launcher if you want to, in fact i encourage it. obviously you will probably want it anyways because the wii's disc channel only supports region free and not forcing certain videomodes, which his apploader does very well.

I guess to put it in laments terms, cSM is like having a modchip, without actually physically having one. On top of that, it brings other meaty features such as disc channel moving, recovery menu, no copy bit removed for copying saved games / channels, among other great features.

Did I just read the Wii's first true "custom firmware"? Now we're talkin!!!

And you say it reads GC Backups too. Just keeps getting better!

The only thing that would worry me is the chance of brickage... While a Wii isn't that much more than a PSP cost-wise (and there's no battery I can just plug in and reset the firmware), it is the hot-ticket item for the holiday and replacements are gonna be extremely hard to come by in the next few months.
