Hacking Backup Launcher by Wiigator

but i think as the pace the scene is moving a custom FW and total Disc Channel loading is gonna come, and come sooner than we think.

my cSM (i guess you could call the second half to wii "custom firmware", ios being the other half) is just about ready for testing.

cSM v0.1a. Complete system menu replacement, reads and boots backup discs like they were retail games from the disc channel, no reboot required! EVEN READS GC BACKUPS!!!! except I have to patch MIOS to use the custom reads of cIOS for them to be playable. but that's not far off at all.

i still have to write the installer though(cause i can't distribute the system menu patched the way it is, its illegal...that's why there are "installers" to install cIOS, etc).

cSM runs soley off of IOS251 (included), i made it separate from the other cIOS installs for campatibility with older loaders (in case people still use them). I made the changes on a fresh system menu 3.2 instead of the version i hacked to hell haha, I figured for the initial releases I'll just get main functionality, then the next release i'll add in the custom settings menu (completely modified graphics and layout allowing on the fly region swapping, no copy bit settings, move dvd channel, video mode, etc using my hidden channel modules), and then the following release the graphically altered main system menu. Functionality first, polish last.

I've been working on cSM (custom system menu) for nearly a month, and its about time to drop some information. Expect a beta very very soon. I have the common decency to wait until Wiigator releases his gamma of the backup loader, he's done great work.

PS, the cSM is currently 3.2U, but when I write the installer it will make the changes to 3.2E as well

Gamma on the Wii is a back up launcher that snake uses, He got it from someone on AIM then sent it to others over Yahoo, He made a Bulletin of it on myspace to make sure pedobear didn't miss it.

I wouldnt be surprised if proper knowledgeable folks like Forsaekn ^ avoided this thread because their inciteful information on the progress they are making is lost in garbage like the last few pages.
The Wii hacking section of the forum has turned to shit recently, shame really, there's real progress being made but it's lost in the garbage.

I'll do you one better. I'll make a barely coherant, hastily thrown-together story out of it!

The Hulk, a Gamma irradiated freak of nature, was in the Nevada desert and needed to Wii. So he took a piss on a snake lying just off to the side, the force of which launched the snake into a group of soldiers who were in the midst of aiming a rocket launcher at him. The snake hit the launcher, utterly obliterating both it and the snake, so the group hastily readied its backup launcher. "Aim steadily, or I'll kick you in your yahoo!, the head-hancho said to the doop holding the launcher. He did aim steadily. And fired accurately. The Hulk was all like "Rocket invade myspace, Hulk smash!", and he totally did. Smash it, that is. The rocket exploded, sending shrapnel everywhere. A particularly nasty bit happened to sever the head of a near-by Pedobear. Too bad, so sad.
