My first post so i hope somebody gets some use out of it.
In playing the various version of Guitar Hero with Backup Launcher i'd become accustomed to pausing and resuming several times when the
scroll bar appears to get the music in sync. But yesterday when i loaded up Guitar Hero World Tour i was happily suprised to see that the
music loaded up in sync every time on the first try without having to pause and resume. I didn't think much about it at the time but was just
happy to see it playing correctly. Then when i got home from work today I answered a forum message of somebody looking to play some GHWT
online, so i turned my wifi on and loaded the game up. So for a warmup i loaded up a song and when the scrolling started it was jerky and
stuttering. It was almost as jerky as GH Rock Band Edition Custom was. That game was unplayable for me. would not scroll at a playable
speed. At this point a little light went off in my head.
Being like most of you here, i hack the hell out of every device i have, from Itouch
to PocketPC to WII and on and on and on..... And all the Wii fun involves sending files to the SD or Wii in one way or another, and my WiFi has
always been on and rarely turned off. Well, I turned it off After the news of the Update hit just to be on the safe side. Lo and behold, it was
the WiFi just being on that caused all the problems with the Guitar Hero games syncing. With WiFi turned OFF, The following versions of Guitar
Hero I have all play flawlessly.
Except through WiFi connect of course.
Guitar Hero 3 GH1 Custom - Plays Perfect
Guitar Hero 3 GH2 Custom - Plays Perfect
Guitar Hero Aerosmith - Plays Perfect
Guitar Hero 3 - Plays Perfect
Guitar Hero 3 Rock Band Edition - Plays Perfect
Guitar Hero World Tour - Plays Perfect
All the above loaded through WiiGator 0.1 through GeckOS and Hook Type GC Pad
It almost seems as though the loader is either causing an interupt conflict or a TCP stack problem. Whatever it is though, i can now play all the
guitar hero stuff with no sync problems. And to top it off as an added benefit. It seems having the wifi off makes the performance of the game
(even the original GH3) so much smoother that my scores have greatly increased. It's almost easy to play songs perfect now.
