Hacking Backup Launcher by Wiigator

So, what is the hard mod needed for the 6x read speeds?

I ask this, because there is no way any backup loader can run at 6x without modifying the drives firmware.

The flaw that was found to allow backups to run at all was left in the Wii when it was going to play DVD movies... and it was limited to 3x. The only way to read faster than 3x is to modify your consoles HARDWARE with a modchip, or DVD Drive firmware hack.

This post is directed at Cooler, since he so adamantly wants to say that there is 6x read speeds, and not just a better cashing of files.

So, please, Cooler, tell us the hard mod we need to do for our backup loaders to run at 6x like yours!

Cooler said he made a mistake initially with the 6x speed read and that it doesnt read at 6x at all - it reads at 3x , but the caching is so good that the difference between a normal disc loading and the new loader isnt noticable.
Please READ what they say before you jump feet first to conclusions and confuse others.

ohh and i was joking about nintendo sending you 500 dollars and a free wii before you start asking me about that.

Thats what beta testers are reporting back - no lag (slowness) in movies so they play like its a proper game.

Will it load unpatched (standard) Wii backups, just like a modchip (minus Disc Channel)?
Is it true about the better cashing system? Will games load faster?
Will you ever be able to patch the system so discs can load via the Disc Channel, or is that still an unknown?

ok well...tried burning Mario Kart Wii a 2nd time. I keep getting an error saying it can't close the disc and says to close it manually. I used ImgBurn to do it cause I also had the error when burning with Roxio Creator. So can someone help me on how to close the DVD manually?

It sounds like it didnt write a lead out to finalise the disc ?
Its unusual for it to do that unless you have specifically asked it to leave the disc open for more burning.

I know Nero has a finalise disc option and i believe Roxio has as well, though where its located im not sure as i havent used it in about 3 years.

I realize I'm pretty new to this forum, but can't we all just get along?? I'm very excited about the new loader coming out also, but IT WILL BE DO OUT IN TIME! Just think of Wiigator as a game developer. He just wants to put out a quality piece of software that WORKS!! This is his sweat and hard work he is putting out for us, so lets just chill out and relax. There are plenty of things that can keep us occupied till it comes out.

1. Download some ISOs
2. Play through the games you already have
3. Watch porn.

I know it makes people mad when a noob comes in and asks noob questions. Just remember everyone is a noob at some point. You don't teach a child to do something by screaming at them and making them feel worthless. I don't like feeling that I'm visiting GameFAQS when I come into this thread.

i have said this last time but let me say it here again

1.You can not play backup patched games until he will be releaseing two loaders one for non patch games and one for patched games
2.The games are loading faster not 6x but it feels like they are reading at 6x, i misunderstood last time no they are not running at 6x but it will feel like
3.You will have to wait until wiigator released and yes there will be a new CIOS and new loader
4.He will implement the patched games to the loader
5.he will try to work to load games through system menu
6.The videos are not laggy,chopy,skipping

And yes games running alot faster i will try wifi soon in one of the games to see if it works fine

To the noobs: What's the point of asking a question 9000 times when the loader is not even out yet? Even if you're happy that certain game works on it, will you be patient enough to wait for it? I think not, all you going to do it "when loader release???" "does blahblah work on it????" "where do i download 0.3???" All it does it filling this thread with trash, forcing the people that actually want to read it have to deal with your trash. Just go play something else and ignore this. It'll come out when it's done

Hey guys

I've got some questions about the dvd-media itself, nothing backup-related.

Why is it so that some DVD manufacturers differ from each other so much? I burn Verbatim, Philips and Octron discs on my PC, if the PC can read them, why can't the Wii do it aswell? And why does Wii have issues with DVD-RWs? At the end of the day, both the DVD-RWs and DVD+/-Rs have the same data on them, right?
