Hacking Backup Launcher by Wiigator

oh man, he already did:

wiigator loader waninkoko fix is not here.
in any case, it seems to have the same compatibility as cios_fix. at least for me, anyway, the load times seemed the same.
the mario kart 2nd race thing is still fixed but red steel still doesn't work. i suspect the same games will remain fixed/broken, but i'm sure ppl will let us know.

edit: crap, now i can't play wario since it won't launch from wiigator's loader. i might go back to cios_fix...

if anyone has decompiled waninkoko's launcher at all, let us know if you figured out what it does differently. it would be cool if he released the source of that and the current ios.

nope he didn't , it doesn't work with the new cIOS this is just the hooktype-disabled

The one named backup-wanky IS the one for the new cIOS, but it doesnt really help, i'm sticking with the orignal fixed cIOS an hook disabled gator loader for now, thx ppc_gba and visor1982.

guys, i could probably help all of you if I knew how the hell to recompile the code. I know c++ to add in the code required and the hook type is what is causing the majority of problems. That and the memory error are the culprits here. BTW, what does make: cc error mean.

edit: didn't make much of a change for me, i guess i still need to burn them on dvd-r instead of dvd+r booktyped as dvd-rom... strange enough mario party 8 does run but only when he wants it to load. and soul caliber legends only does the versus part not the single player part while reports say it is vice versa...

Cios_fix.wad - fixes the issue of none of Wan's apps working with R5? (do we install R5 first then this?, or this first?)

backup-wanky.dol - the updated WiiGator backup loader to work with R5? (do we use this before Cios_fix.wad or after?)

backuplauncher_hook.dol - lol wth is this one?

tytyty thats exactly what i wanted to hear, i will be spreading the news around the sites so there wont be as many questions.
if you are right that is^^ but i believe ya. I think there is much question going around cause well hell i thought R5 was first.

1.- is the Wiigator's launcher, modified by ppc_gba, who also made the cIOS_fix, he disabled the HookType function so you don't have to change that everytime you launch an ISO
2.- Yes you do, and unistall it with cIOS Uninstaller by Waninkoko, or Any Title Deleter by Tona (IOS249)

I wasn't flamin' ya, the .dol you re-name it as Frosty says (boot.dol) put it inside your sd:\apps\Loader and run it thru the HBC

the HookType function is a screw up in the loader or the cIOS? or what is it?
and overall, what fixes does this fix? backup loader wise. speed, compatibility, something else?

i just tested SMG and the opening cinematic crash is still there
but it did seem like it did load quicker
