Hacking Backup Launcher by Wiigator

thanks ether^^ you have been very helpful for many people.

the HookType function is a screw up in the loader or the cIOS? or what is it?
and overall, what fixes does this fix? backup loader wise. speed, compatibility, something else?

Not sure but if you didn't change the Hooktype to GC pad, the launcher crashes, so ppc_gba disable it, now you don't have to change it every time you launch; the fix (I'M NOT A CODER OR SOMETHING NEAR BY THOUSAND BILLION KMS) changes the place of the bufer or something like that, to a place unused inside the dunno wich memory, because of dunno why.......but works better, lol

e.g. Mario Strikers was "playable" but sometimes used to freeze and in the setting looks like StarFox(SNES), because of all the poligonal figures on it

, now everything is flawless

Tested Naruto Shippuden: Gekitou! Ninja Taisen EX 2. Results

You no longer have to patch the game! Just burn and play.
Opening video is not laggy.

That's all I tested so far. I'm burning NBA Live 09 now so I'll be back with more results in about 45 minutes cause I'm going out somewhere.

@Raiyu245: you tested the new beta launcher and/or cios from wiigator? have the speed issues been fixed? red steel/others work?

for those who are confused: wiigator-hook, the regular wiigator launcher, and the waninkoko launcher work with the leaked version (which the source is available for) of waninkoko's ios with dip module 0.1, and cios_fix, which is just a fixed version of the leaked version.

you use the wiigator-waninkoko version launcher to launch games from the new ios rev5 with dip module 0.2 which was just released, which does not work with any other launcher. as far as i know this should work with all the games the hook version does on cios_fix. if you're having problems no one else is having, you might have done something wrong.

The videos in Super Smash Brothers (PAL) and Mario Kart (PAL) run at full speed. I can still optimize it a little bit more.

1 question:

i got R5, cIOS_fix.wad, and the hook.dol

i used WAD manager to install cIOS_fix.wad, then inserted hook.dol in sd.

i tried the SMG that i patched awhile back and i got the same crash.

i do everything right? or i miss somethin.

What about the games that have been patched and burnt to disk? Do we have to re download ect.
Does full speed video mean full speed loading as well?

wow, seems like wiigator has gotten way beyond waninkoko in terms of speed and maybe compatibility!

i'm looking forward to seeing this!

hopefully we can still launch games from the wiigator backup loader (or a new one), but I think if you want to use the system menu with a patched game it may take more ios hacks or some hacks to the system menu.

Hey not tryin to be mean but dont ask for eta on this they got something running decently let them work at it and test more
efficiently so this will be a proper release form wiigator and his team of testers.....

Just like just now wiiGator responded to let us know progress when he wants us to have it he will release it have some respect!
