Hacking Backup Launcher by Wiigator

Just a quick couple of questions, as there are soooo many threads with so much static in them its hard to see the wood for the trees..

1) A friend has updated his console to the latest euro FW, can the HBC still be added?
2) On mine the Backup Loader 0.3, Wiigater 0.3 both work, but Wiigee 0.3 give an error on loading? is this because im missing a CISO? just have 249 (i think)

for 1 can i, do the zelda hack, but run a downgrader instead of installing the HBC (which you cannot) to 3.2E? then carry on as normal?

1. YES HE CAN! Look at the homepage of the HBC!
There is a sticky topic for all issues with this update!

2. It's cIOS, cios or CIOS that short for custom IOS. IOSes a part of the wii's firmware. 249 is only the position where it is installed. All cIOSes can be at 249, but it's a little complicated to modify one to use another. What's Wiigee 0.3??? Whatever this is, where you got it, should be a guide on how to get it work.

LoL never heard the wood one, but it works at least as well as the forest one (the grammar of the saying always threw me for a loop though)

I knew it wasnt to do with the loader because spyro worked on 2 player on 0.3, so I guess its just warioware.
I dont know why it doesnt want 2 wiimotes to be on a the same time though?...

if your readin this dude can you confirm that Gamma will work fine with 3.3v2??

me lil cousin just got his Wii today and i was gonna update it to the latest version just to avoid any errors if he does it himself...

i assume since 0.3b works on 3.3v2 then 0.3g will install in the same way, only i've heard that 0.3g will allow you to use the disc channel so just wondering if you need to be on 3.2 or anything for this to work.

There is nothing with the Backup Loader that is incompatible with 3.3v2 (I may be wrong, probably not)
It is installing the cIOS, and fakesigning is blocked in 3.3v2 so it won't let you install stuff.

You should probably have to be on 3.2/3.3v1/3.3v2-Fixed/Under 3.2 for Disk Channel loading to work.
Probably because the DiskChannel installer will have to fakesign to install, which I said was blocked.

its just that a few of the young kids in the family will be gettin a Wii for xmas and i'm left with the enjoyable process of softmoddin what will probably be 3 of them before xmas.

just wanna go for the best option...do you think it would be better then to wait a week or two and install 0.3g ??

0.3b works fine.
Install the cIOS and put the Backup Loader on the SD card.

When g is released, just uninstall the old cIOS and put on the new one and put the new loader on the SD.

And yes, I use Intrepid. I don't like Backtrack. Ugh. I HATE KDE. I've never gotten used to it.
And if you use Backtrack, I'm sure you're enjoying "your" WiFi.

but anyway back to loaders, do you know if gamma will install over the current cIOS or will we definatley need to uninstall? i know i just installed the read_retry fix over the top i am hoping this is the case, even tho i look at a shell most of the day ATD scares me for some reason i dont know wat to uninstall or delete

i once installed DVDX but i this was before 0.1 and i cant remember where i installed it to i think it was just the standard install and since i dont use the DVD Playback feature i wanna remove it.

what should i be looking for guys?

this as it seems the new cios(for v.3) removes the ciso

(for v.1) as that stands that fixs some patch game

issues for now (fyi got all the files i needed from

djtaz except for the cios wad for v.1 dont know how to

do rapid share so if some one could help with that would

be awsome) as for my compat list the same as the one

posted by others here look it up.
