Hi. So today, my N3DSXL's back plate snapped! And it's the fragile screw part! What do I do now? Obviously Nintendo will not repair my console as it has Luma.

Thank you.

As the circle pad also has some issues (does not go back to center at times), should I send to a third party store to fix both?

Thank you.
That's normal just break the screw off fully now

buy a new backplate, then destroy the old one. reminder: placing the washers on the new one is liable to be a pita.

You could always get one 3D printed. Using a service like Shapeways. Or something local in your area.

Mine looks like that too. It's from me taking the cover off so much so I just took the screws out and left it without them. Makes it easier to remove.

As for the back plate goes the black one are hard to source, can't find any on ebay and Nintendo doesn't supply that color, you can try asking ebay sellers that sell 3DS part if they have one, I managed to find one for my Red N3DS XL. a P0 bit from Ifixit should be able to remove those screws for you.

Thanks. I'm going to get one hopefully

You found one for a Red N3DSXL? Would you mind sharing a link or letting us know where you found one? Mine just broke today and I'd love to get it replaced ASAP, but I can't find a red one anywhere.

Got it off ebay seller Wiigotem not sure if he has anymore in stock.

You should be able to unscrew those by using the nail of your pinky finger to wedge and lift the screw while unscrewing it if they're stuck due to the n3DSXL's stripped thread holes. Try sandwiching a wide rubber band between the screwdriver and screws to get better torquing grip.

If the screws can't be removed by conventional means, you man need to drill through like this.

Here are replacement n3DSXL battery cover plates.
