Homebrew Backing up save before downgrade and unlinking

Hello, i'm going to downgrade my cousin's 3ds (and install CFW), but he wants to backup his ehsop pokemon save, would this still works after formating the sysnand for unlinking after downgrade?

use svdt to back up his saves. afaik encrypted saves can not restore after format nand.

Sad, thanks for the reply anyways. Would the save work even if i format SD? (and not nand) I just realized that since emunand won't be formated the save should still work on it right?

Nothing's gonna change if you backup your SD, format your SD and then paste back your backup. I think the emunand is not wiped because it's in a hidden partition

Sad, thanks for the reply anyways. Would the save work even if i format SD? (and not nand) I just realized that since emunand won't be formated the save should still work on it right?

format SD card f is not cause any problem. of course the saves works on his emunand too. I can transfer my mh4g saves on my sysnand and emunand using this method.
