The most awe-inspiring part of a game to me was Pilotwings 64's birdman mode in the Little States. I was so awestruck by the amount of detail as well as area in that level and all this was made even more salacious by that awesome peaceful inducing tone of the Birdman theme.

Hmm...I can remember three right now. But only one involving a screenshot...

-Need for speed 2...my friend had just bought this new PC with a voodoo2 card (this was before every graphics card supported that shit) and it looked rather nice. Until we started need for speed 2, used a cheat for the fastest vehicle and hit the gas in overdrive. Man...it was like riding a rollercoaster. Too bad the feeling didn't stay forever (I just get that thrill from playing F-zero GX, nowadays)
-Unreal. That soothing atmosphere from when you just escaped the prison ship and head off in the unknown. The sunspire, while many hours later in the game, still has my vote for best single player level in any First Person Shooter.

-...and doom 2. I bet that anyone who played the crap out of doom 1 and got their hands on doom 2 went

when he entered that room where two pillars came down to reveal...

Mysterious Figure KHBBS. I was first like ok maybe he going to easy like Vanitas clone, but after the two hit kill I was "Oh, fuck. This is worst than Sephiroth". Dissidia 012 Fighting Feral Chaos the first time when I hit "I'm a master" at the beginning of the game and fighting him at the end.
