Hi, I have a N3DSXL running official and simple 10.7 FW, and I, failed again trying to install A9LH using smashhax, I'd tried days before, but the cartridge was not compatible and couldn't even access HBL. But this time, I used a different Smash cartridge, and it worked, but I couldn't downgrade, it always got stuck on HAX INIT, and I read that it's almost impossible to downgrade using smashhax, so I decided to buy a Sky3ds+, but that's not the point.

Is there a autoupdate risk to the latest firmware?
I'd like to stay in this version for a couple of weeks, and once I have my hands on the Sky3ds+, use it to downgrade and install A9LH (I'll use the sky3ds for its main function of course, but I'd like to try some of the CFW benefits.)

No, there isn't. If you leave it in sleep mode it will automatically download the update and constantly nag you to install it but that can be fixed by going into recovery mode and then immediately exiting.

You might want to use tubehax to prevent updating and/or ctr-httpwn to enable eshop/online access on 10.7 though.

Also, technically it is also possible to remove the update nag by using FBI to delete pending titles, but since that requires cfw it won't help you at the moment.

I'm not interested in using the eShop for a while, but will I be unable to access online in any game too?

you wont get online no

i advise get OOT hax, cubic ninja or an old cheap sky3ds blue for cubic
Okey, I think I'll have to play offline for now.

And OoT interest me(I'd like to play it), but it's kind of a secondary exploit. Cubic ninja it's the perfect exploit, but it's pricey and I'm not interested in buying a game that I'll not play.
The old sky3ds version seems okey, but it's still not really much difference in price compared to the new one, and if I'm going to spend money in a sky3ds, I'd better buy the new one.
Thanks anyway![emoji5]

But wait-if you're planning to downgrade, you only need OoT to downgrade. Then, you can play the game afterward OR install a .cia version of it!

Well then I suggest you either disable wifi or even better, remove all wifi connection settings which will guarantee no problems.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
