^except for N64 games, i use the emulators, too. However, I have had zero luck with injecting N64 games; they always get stuck on the "you will need the classic controller" screen. I use Sin & Punishment for injecting, and I've tested the S&P wad itself, uninjected, on my wii, and it works fine. Any suggestions?

Hi Guys

So basicly I need the following to get this to work.

Zelda game hack running.
Auto Injectuwad injector and DKC2 purchased from store?

Also can I inject Secert of evermore in DKC2 PAL rom?

Is this correct?

No, read around, you don't have to buy dkc from the store, search the forum for WADs, find out what they are and how you get them. Someone has already injected secret of evermore. Hell, there are emulators out now so you don't even need to bother with injecting, I don't. I just use SNES9x for my snes roms. Don't ask me what it is, search around for it on the forum, or look at wiibrew or something.

Np mate thanks, just got a Wii and starting to follow the hacking scene.

Has anyone injected Mega Man NTSC for the NES yet and reported it to be working? I've looked all over and I can't find it available for download except for the PAL version.

I've done it for megaman 2... I used kirby's adventure to inject into. I suggest that you simply download the FCEU NES emulator and use that to emulate Megaman; it's easier and heck, I think it even looks better than an injected wad.

Other than that, you're out of luck with freethewads for the pal version of megaman; doesn't work (at least not for me).

not to sound like broken record, but we really need better computability on N64 injecting. only 5 games work, out of 157. Wii need good games like DK64, Banjo 1+2, Gex, Rogue SQuadron, battle for naboo, shadows of the empire...........

I just dont understand WHY THE N64 IS SUCH A BIG HURDLE!!!!!!!!

its like that in almost EVERY scene, but im still happy with weak system injections.............

i miss rogue squadron though.................

N64 compatibility will increase when Nintendo releases a game with a better emulator than Sin and Punishment. Hopefully we'll get a game that requires the expansion pack (Majora's Mask or Donkey Kong would be most likely), so that we could get some of the other games that require the pack (Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie) that wouldn't otherwise be released here.

EDIT: And why the hell hasn't this thread been stickied? It's probably the best tool the Wii VC scene has seen yet. It's 100% idiot proof and impossible to brick a system with injects. I demand a movement for a sticky!

RAWG sooo here's the story, i picked up on this a little bit ago and just now tried my own injection, and i choose one of the best games of all time, also one of the ones that isn't "compatiable" Seiken Densetsu 3.

I've got the translated rom, and so i figure wth i'll inject it into one of the already moded wads.

well boom it gets done and installed, and what the hell lets boot it up!
yaynds.gif
it works! hot damn it loaded the intro!

so lets start this sucker up and see if it'll run, get past the intro to the start menu and! black screen
hate2.gif
oh SD3 you tease me so...

btw i'm pretty sure the wad was orginally a ndts dkc2 wad, and it had been injected w/ ndts SoM ; ; why doesn't it boot!

Edit: reviewed the compatablity list ^^; sorry least i bumped the thread...
ANY HO i'm going to try and inject it into say... LOZ ltp or SM heres hoping

edit2: soo yeah! oh well no luck here, loz ltp is too small no surpise there eh? soon as i can get azureus to finish SMet i'll try it when i get

I'm just trying to get this straight.

So if I take Chrono Trigger US and inject it to Pal DK2 me been Pal will only work at 50HZ with boarders even though I have Wii set to 60HZ?

If so is there some way of editing the emulator inside the wad file to run 60HZ I wonder?

Also that's great about the Neo Geo, anyone tried Art of Fighting injected with another game?

Anyone tried any FX games like Vortex,Dirt Racer,Doom ?

All the SNES and NES Pal Wads will only run PAL 50HZ SNES and NES games. The only exception is:

SNES - Mario Picross - Run JP or US 60HZ games but for now, only roms about 1MB.

NES - Super Mario Bros Lost Levels - Only JP Nes games (not sure of size but very small roms)

One user mentioned you could compress the rom and place it in the WAD but I don't know if that's true. The WAD is apparently suppose to contain an emulator file in 0000005.app which contains these files in DK2:

banner.tpl - Images the WAD uses for saves, Wii Menu etc
emanual.arc - The Operation Guide
JAEP.pcm - No idea what this is. I suspect it could be it.
JAEP.rom - The rom the WAD uses.
JAEOP.var - Seems to be data that changes some of the original rom data when loaded.
Opera.arc - I suppose it's the Opera Internet Browser.

I'll keep looking and see what I can find.

In snes files, 00000001.app is the emulator.

The file .pcm in the 00000005.app is a pack of samples. In Virtual Console, most (if not all) snes games don't use original samples from the rom, but new samples in the file .pcm. That's why the .rom file is not exactly like the rom you can download from internet, because it's modified to point to this samples. I injected the original DCK rom and really notice no difference on sound, but who knows.

Anyway, you can inject a rom of ANY size on ANY snes VC, so you can play all games at 60hz on pal consoles if you inject a rom to gradius or picross.

I tried it manually with DCK in gradius and worked very well.

I'm currently building a tool for doing this, but still on development.

Ah, and I tried Yoshi's Island and it didn't work, so probably FX it's not supported... at least FX2.

Well that explains why I can't find it in app 5.

At least it's possible to add any size rom to the WAD. I guess you have to edit some file offsets in order for that to happen.

Yes, that's just it. It happens, in theory, with all systems, except for NES, where the rom is in 00000001 between the emulator and some other files. Probably it's just a simple offsets thing also, but I haven't figuret it yet

Anyway, at this point on, ROM PAL60 nes files are limited to ninja gaiden: 256K. It's not bad, there are a lot of good games of this size or less

The solutions are easy for SNES and NES WADs. The rest are going to interesting to find.

The Mega Drive seems to display the mode on what region is used. It seemed really strange when Sega just released the import games on PAL Wii at 50Hz (curse lazy Sega) which made Puyo Puyo 2 run very slow with FAT boarders.

Although I've found something interesting:

00166C30 004A 504E 0001 5553 4100 0245 5552 0003 .JPN..USA..EUR..
00166C40 4155 5300 0442 5241 0005 5457 4E00 0552 AUS..BRA..TWN..R
00166C50 4F43 0006 4B4F 5200 0748 4B47 0008 4153 OC..KOR..HKG..AS
00166C60 4900 094C 544E 000A 5341 4600 FF00 0000 I..LTN..SAF.....

Notice each region has a number? I wonder what happens if you change it?

Also so I can't just inject DKC into Gradius via Auto Injectuwad I need to do this manually, could you explain how?

Cool, so once you release this tool I should be able to inject Chrono Trigger or Secert of Evermore into Gradius it should be 60HZ.

Thanks

My Google-fu seems to be failing me today, but has anyone found a way to inject Sonic 3 & Knuckles in to a Genesis WAD? S3&K is a full sized (16Mb) ROM, I haven't been able to even find a WAD file big enough to fit it. Surely someone has dumped a Genesis VC title big enough to hold this game?
