Sony has confirmed the PSPgo will launch in Australia on October 1 and retail for $449.95. That’s in line with the European price points, but considerably more expensive than the US.

It’s also - remarkably - just $50 shy of the price of the new PS3 Slim. Quite how the vastly different technology in the two boxes adds up to such similar figures is surely baffling to all those outside the Sony bean counters.

Ouch. Why the $150 difference between the 3000 and the go? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it just a PSP less the UMD drive?

Sony are taking advantage of consumer ignorance.
"NEWER = MORE EXPENSIVE"

Logically, since the PSP Go is just an older Sony device shell with PSP innards, and also lacks a UMD drive, it should cost LESS. Yes it has a 16gb NAND but flash is not as expensive as it used to be! (The NAND should be about $40-60 tops)

Even the DSi's increased price was justifiable for it's two cameras, SD slot, NAND, increased power and slew of new software.

Wow....just wow!

I really don't know what to say. If I was a retailer I wouldn't even stock the PSP Go. That's a ludicrous price. Looks like it's going to be a hard seller.

Maybe they should reconsider the psp go since anyone with brain thats not a millionare hates it.

1. It is too expensive
2.Its way to small
3. The controls look cramped
4. its expensive for its memory and with 2 micro sd's and an adapter you have the same thing with a 3000
5.You have to rebuy all your games.
6.Since you have to rebuy all your games most of the people with brains that buy it will pirate it.
7. Since it probably will block all hacks we need another fix and since nobody's gonna get it nobody can use it for piracy which gets rid of more potential buyers
8.DONT BUY IT.
9.COMPLAIN AT SONY TILL THEY DO SOMETHING.

Yeah, Sony just fucks Aus and Europe up the ass. But then again, who the hell wants a PSPgo? It's just a PSP that can't play any UMD games.

Not even worth the 299 bucks for the US release, That's only a few bucks cheaper than the 3 games I preordered + Love Plus soundtrack x 2 (dramatic soundtrack and the drama CD) combined. Sony, I'm so sorry but you have seriously lost the game.

everyone may think it is too overpriced but i think this is strategy... they have realised from ps3 sales that though it is exp, people still buy it
lol to saturn with the complaints
by the way 350 Aus Dollars = approx. 370 US dollars ... must be shipping cost
i still think many are not AS angry as ppl here are

Here in the Philippines, if we sell the PSPgo (Australian version), it'll be Php40,000. That's one hell country we are.

Think twice Sony. The Philippines is corrupt and yet you overpriced your products.

Please, dont let the Australian PSPgo arrive in the Philippines

The PSPgo Philippine price tag from Austrailia is Php 18,000. NOOOOOO. I could buy a Wii at that price
