i tried it a few times before i knew about the d-pad option , and it worked.
but i think that the possibility for it to fail is too high , i prefer to spin once and continue driving instead of gambling.

I think I've done this not entirely sure what I did, but I thought it was a single well timed stunt and all that happened was a jump no spin.

For those using Nunchuk + Wiimote just start shaking the mote like a mad man, just before the POW block goes off. Two blue rings will appear underneath you, and you'll only spin once and hardly loose any speed. Very useful shinsil!
