Some says jumping threee times with a good synchro will completely prevent the pow block making you spin.

Don't know if it works or not.

i tried it a few times before i knew about the d-pad option , and it worked.
but i think that the possibility for it to fail is too high , i prefer to spin once and continue driving instead of gambling.

Just use the D-pad, no need to jump around

so just to confirm you have to press 'up' on the d-pad, or will any direction suffice?

No idea to be honest, I just use the up-thingy.
You can try the other 3 directions if you wish, I'll stick with the 'up'.

I think I've done this not entirely sure what I did, but I thought it was a single well timed stunt and all that happened was a jump no spin.

When the POW block appears above my kart, I just start tapping up, on the d-pad, and it works.

If the player performs an areal stunt the Pow Block won’t connect.

Very useful.

For those using Nunchuk + Wiimote just start shaking the mote like a mad man, just before the POW block goes off. Two blue rings will appear underneath you, and you'll only spin once and hardly loose any speed. Very useful shinsil!
