Hi , Im doing my best to learn as much as i can before posting, but need a little nudge in right direction.

our family will soon have 2 xboxes

1 x Elite 250gb "Falcon" motherboard current Dashboard 2.0.13599.0

1 x Slim 4Gb "Trinity " current Dashboard unknown (hasnt arrived yet)

We are wishing to mod both but realise there are slightly different ways

wanting to be able to rip games from xbox onto a external drive / or xboxes drive.
emulators and Freestyle Dash /equivilent.
Something like this .....

Reset Glitch Hack (RGH) mod for Xbox 360

Submitted by admin on Sat, 11/26/2011 - 10:32

This mod will allow the following functionality on your Xbox 360
  • Backup your games to a USB harddrive or your Xbox 360 harddrive.
  • Run your games directly from your harddrive without the need for a disc in your drive.
  • Your console will boot directly to Freestyle Dash, which will have a listing of the games on your harddrive. You can then just select the game you wish to play.
  • Will play any region game.
  • Xbox Live Arcade games can be added to the harddrive and played.
  • Any homebrew games/applications can be run.
  • Emulators can also be added and used.
  • Dash updates etc can be applied using a usb drive. There shouldn't be any need to send the console in to keep it up to date with new game formats etc.
Disadvantages of this mod
  • This mod is not safe for Xbox Live. Once your console is modded, you won't be able to go on Xbox Live at all.
  • When you turn your console on, it will take a little longer to boot the console than before, average time seems to be around 15-20 seconds, but can occasionally be up to a minute. (Once the console is on, games will boot just as quick, if not quicker than before).
what do i need to do both?

Ive been watching youtube vids
where they say you need
Xecuter Nand x
Xecuter coolrunner glitch chip
jtag programmer, and various software.

These guys are half an hour away http://www.modsuppli...talog/index.php

what chips do i need?
http://www.modsuppli...ck3i-p-912.html
http://www.modsuppli...ev-c-p-982.html

???
there are so many different cool running chips?
ive downloaded quite a few different youtube vids, but they all seem slightly different!

help!
ps i feel very comfortable from what ive seen on the videos, its just knowing what hardware etc needed for my consoles

For my Trinity I used a Matrix glitcher V2 (because the glitch software is already on the chip) and I made my own Jtag cable to dump the nand (but you may want to get a Nand-X for that)

You could use the same chip/setup for the Falcon too.

If your not comfortable doing the mod yourself there are people who can do this for you.

Using a NAND-X makes the dumping process faster compared to a LPT cable.

You only need a TX Coolrunner (or similar chip) and a low watt fine tip soldering iron.

I advice you to be VERY careful when soldering to a 360.
The points are small and it's easy to screw it up.
VERY EASY! to screw it up.

As for youtube videos.
I personally don't trust them at all since most of them are fakes and liars.
Instead use this for Phats: l ink and this for Slims: link
Use this for installing the Glitch hack it self: Link

Also be sure that your 360's aren't on 15572.
This will kill the RGH for the time being.

The TX Coolrunner is good.
The NAND-X is also good.

About your soldering iron.
It is equal or less then 30w max?
With a 2 or 3 millimeter tip?

And just make sure your dashboard is 14699 or lower.
14719 and 14716 are glitchable but require an extra wire.
Dash+Kernel 15572 isn't glitchable without having a CPU Key + NAND Dump from a 14699 same rev 360.

Atleast for the time being 15572 IS NOT glitchable!

QSB or wires don't really matter for the NAND-X

Only thing is that you can do it somewhat more nicer looking with QSB's

Yep.
Don't update it past 14699.
It's easier to glitch at lower dashes.
