here the tool for translating this game. Just open any .mes-file from \ash\msg\ directory, translating results will be in \ash\msg\i18n\ folder.
the game starts with mes_stage000.mes file

and check the font, maybe it too wide and need some editing.

about googledocs: there is 86 .mes files in game, so i have to extract text from all files to one big spreadsheet or what?

put them in one spreadsheet, make sure you divide them somehow, like with a colored box saying "end of the file"

if you locate the font file, check if it is the NFTR format, and if it is, it can be easily changed. I don't know about other font files though.

Awesome! I hope this one keeps momentum, this game is definately a fun one.
Thanks wl for making the tool! Thanks to all for joining in the translation!

I LOVE YOU GUYS.......I'm waiting for this game since it was released in JP.....I thought irt was supposed to get english release....but they never officially announced it.....

I'd really like to see 100% english version for this game (I know it'll probably never happen), but I really appreciate you even started the translation......

WEEEEEEE!

Sounds great, it's disturbing how many of these I've only heard of due to translation projects. I was previously unaware there was a Ys on the DS either. Kind of reminds me of the days of the SNES, if not for translations I never would have known Treasure Hunter G, Terranigma, et al.
