The Wii forum is somewhat dead, and I'm in a bit of a hurry and would like to know if it's possible to use SDXC cards with original Wii hardware.

Yes, it's possible. You have to have a regular SD card for Homebrew installation, but you can use anything you want after that

I use the Sandisk 512GB SDXC card with my Wii, having no issues whatsoever.

Planning on getting a 64GB SD for dumped ROMs (one of the few who own a Retrode) and USB Loader. Basically, the things I don't want to upload to DropBox.

Just remember only Wiiflow supports loading from SD (for Wii games)
