Homebrew ARM9Loader -- Technical Details and Discussion

From what I know the first partition is not properly signed, because we added the payload at the and, because of this the bootloader will jump over to firm1, which is properly signed and shorter than firm0. It will be decrypted to garbage, which jumps to the payload.


I also created a pack for all people who want to test my bootloader, some people seam to have problems, but it work in both variations on my o3DS.

just tried this out on my hardmodded o3ds... does the job quite nicely I must say, AuReiNand set to boot on A and cakes as default, no issues with it

Are you using the bootloaderloader ? Or you're installing the custom payload ?

CakesFW CIA launcher for those who want to test it. Was originally supposed to launch Reinand (Mrrraou was the one that made the elf file by the way. I've just repacked it with new icon/banner), but it launches Cakes instead. So I've branded it for CakesFW.

It should work on 9.4 FIRM too, but I can't test it it uses svcBackdoor instead of libkhax

Use this files

Rename your a9f.bin to "OTP.bin" and put all the files in the folder "data_input".

Yeah, compile it with mSys and read what I said above, I gave you another link without the otp.bin.

Yup, that is the correct size, you only need the 3dsx.

After installing it your 3ds will only boot with a payload (arm9loaderhax.bin)

I don't think so, I installed it booting the homebrew launcher from menuhax using bootctr.
