More specific: If I have a save file for an NTSC game on my Wii, would I be able to load that save file with the PAL version of the game? I rented a NTSC game and plan to play a PAL "backup" version on my modded Wii, so I'm wondering if I'll still have all my progress

Same goes for DS because I was wondering about that too.

ds games... 100% yes, i haven't had a save file have any issues between regional releases of same game (as long as the file name matches the .sav file, it's all good). wii games... i'm pretty sure it's ok... but i'm not 100% sure cause i can't recall what game i would had tried this with.
