Hacking AR Codes Patching into games?

Hi, I recently downloaded a hack of Heart Gold, but it's Game ID is different than Heart Gold's, therefore I couldn't use Regular HG's Cheats. So, I tried changing the Game ID in the UsrCheat.dat file to match the hack's, but for whatever reason, the cheats still do not show up... So, my question is: What's that AR Patch program that starts codes at the beginning of the game called? I know one for GBA is called GabSharky, but that's for GBA only...

Any help would be nice!
