What do y’all think’s gonna happen for the April direct?

Obviously we gonna see Mario Kart 9, and chances are high for some Super Mario 40th anniversary stuff

Maybe Kirby too??

But everything else I have no idea

I'm hopeful for a Metroid Prime 4 update (although slightly pessimistic). I saw that Amazon started cancelling pre-orders. I'm wondering if it will possibly be a Switch 2 exclusive and preorders were cancelled because it is no longer just a Switch OG game?

I love that they've avoided April Fools Day but only just.

Anyway, my prediction is 'Nintendo Switch Selects/Classics' or something like that, like they did for the 3DS. Switch games that will be backwards compatible with the S2 and be on a reduced price.

As for new games, I have no idea. Probably too early to say.

I'd like to see an update on Metroid Prime 4. Game has been in limbo for so long. We got a decent trailer last year, but radio silence since.

I don't know about games, but it's pretty clear this isn't going to be released before June: the last hands-on event is apparently between the 31st of May and the 1st of June, in Seoul. I hope they'll release it by the end of June, but I don't know if it's a good time for new devices.. if they skip June, I seriously doubt we'll see it before September.

Probably gonna be a November release. Most big consoles usually release there and it's in time for the holidays

Nintendo Switch Online price raised up to 29.99$ and Expansion raised to 49.99$ a year. It will also be renamed to Switch2+ and stop supporting the first switch
New updates for Alarmo, which Nintendo considers more important than everything related to Switch 2.
Amiibo is discontinued with the very last amiibo being a Switch 2 joy con, supported by no games because it was released too late. Thus it is considered a generic amiibo by Switch 1 games and prolly even supports 3DS and wii u
For the 40th Anniversary of Mario, Super Mario 3D All Stars 2 is released, only sold in physical and features Galaxy 2, 3D Land and 3D World and Odyssey a download key for both because they were already on Switch 1. It costed 199$ (You could get Action 52 with that many bucks!) and only lasted 1 week.
Speaking of Action 52, it is now available on the Switch2+ NES app. It's the broken version where Alfred n the Fettuc crashes the game

If NSO went up only $10 it would be reasonable to assume that NSO + Expansion Pack would go up maybe $20 for a total of $70 a year (it's already at $50). No way the Expansion alone will cost $50. Game Pass Core is $120 a year and PSN Plus Essential is $80. NSO + Expansion Pack would still be less than the other two after price increases. And I'm not sure why everyone that owns a Switch isn't in a family group. I've paid $10 a year for several years now. Even if there's only two members in the group it would be $40 a year or around $3.33 per month. if a person can't afford $3.33 a month there's something wrong on their end.

That was unrelated I'm afraid. Appears recently Amazon started just canceling tons of pre-orders. For example recently all of the Mighty Number 9 3DS pre-orders were canceled the same day.

In April they'll discuss hardware and all DLSS + Raytracing capabilities, up 40 4K upscaling for switch 1 games, announce Mario Kart as launch title, with Metroid prime 4 and next 3D mario coming in few months after release.

Also did anyone notice that both joycons have optical sensor, and they were used like mice? they'll elaborate on that too I guess

Yeah apparently there were some rumors about the joycons being able to be used like a computer mouse, which . . if that were real, that be a game changer

Predictions? I think they will reveal the releaseprice, some specs of the S2 and the launch games.
I think that Mario Kart 9 and Metroid Prime 4 will be launch titles.
Because both of them are now a few years in development.
Some leakers said two years ago, that metroid prime 4 is already finished but held back.
Maybe we could see a metroid double feature, because nintendo already said that the devs of samus returns and dread will make a new game for the series.

I also think that a new zelda or remake could be a launch title.
Nintendo will need more than just 2 launch titles. So i guess they fire with huge guns at launch.
Everything is possible.
They could easily mess this up, but they could also surprise us with metroid prime 4, a new zelda, new mario, f-zero, donkey kong, kirby, starfox and more at launch.
I'm more the type of "they mess this up really hard". But lets see

I think that Mario Kart 9 and Metroid Prime 4 will be launch titles.
afaik with metroid prime 4 already planned for the switch, they can just pull a microsoft and make both switch 1 and switch 2 versions of the game and prolly let you upgrade to the 2 version when you own the 1 version like xbox's smart delivery program

Fairly confident they will announce a June release at the $399.99USD price point with Mario Kart 9/10 as a launch title. Based on leaks I do expect to see Red Dead Redemption II, and it makes sense since it would showcase something that Switch 1 cannot do. I would not be surprised if we see something interesting like the announcement of Metal Gear Solid Delta. I also expect a 3D Mario to launch this year.

I'm pretty sure the Direct will showcase the hardware gimmicks, but also some early launch titles like Metroid Prime 4, FF7 Remake, Mario Kart 9, etc.

I love that they've avoided April Fools Day but only just.

They should have done it on 4.4.2024, so there would be less date confusion globally.
