Palico Stats modification, as in hax stats cats the allowance of changing attack + defence numbers of base stats, I heard its possible to do with hex editor, but seriously APM your tools are nice and clean, I believe more would apreciate your work rather than deal with hex editors.
Source on this? I may be able to find it in the palico data (in fact, I suspect I already know where it might be, I just don't know the type of number [it's not Float but it doesn't match a signed/unsigend byte either as far as I can tell - if that is indeed the location] or what it's added to/subtracted from as far as stat calculation), but knowing/contacting the one who says they found it can speed up/eliminate the trial and error.

Speaking of... even if it ends up only for personal reference, I'm going to try to map out graphically what the hex offsests represent for exported palicos to make any further discoveries easier (so I'm to wadding through every possible offset every time)

Source is that I know a person who does a lot of hacks in any mh game, he already did some custom quests in MHGen, but since the community disliked his gameplay, he decided to quit on hacking mh game, he played MH X, felt it was too casual compared to previous series, and once MHGen got out, he only shared his cats etc with friends -> and left the game, today he is playing the spinn off monhon i think its called?

He has a cat with 700 attack and 600 defence or so. he says he doesn't want to share it, and that he used hex editor. - he usually shares everything and usually reliable. so that should be a good source.

and you know me already so yeah. we can pretty much assume its correct.

I'll jsut have to tinker then. I'll go back to my tried and true: Setting every known byte to 0 or FF then brute forcing everything else.

>A method to edit guild car unity.
Not sure what that is

> Awards unlocker "not all but specific if possible" just for unlock bugged out awards that requires some triggers which are hard to assume.
Not sure where the offsets for the awards are, but I'm sure it's doable

I've actually had like 0 time to play this game lol.

on guild card there is a "unity level" which is "friendship lvl" if you open guild card, its on 1st page, can go up to 99 999 its basically HR in points not ranks, and its for playing with friends.

I'm already 40/99k but I feel its annoying to share my guild card with everyone all the time. So my completionist kicks in and annoys me :c

if you ever play the game please let me know. this is my 8th MH game (played all 5 previous mh handheld games and MHO + frontier as well). So I'm very experience and I enjoy doing hunts all the time :)

Can you at least ask him how he did it? He might be disillusioned with the game but it would be nice if he'd help out.

If you can edit Palicoes' stats...I wonder if you can edit DLC weapons... The F Star Globe is my favorite-looking weapon, but it's not the strongest for end-game. :( Good luck, iSharingan. I hope you find the data you're looking for.

Search this topic for a thing called Palico Generator. It can't actually make palicos, but it can show you what's legitimate. Going outside of what it shows will make you lose your moves.

Read the 1st post in one of the "hidden" tabs i forgot which one, there is a link to a chinese translated post with rules for palicos.

the thing is the game has "rules" of how a cat should be "Legit" if you break any of the rules. the game says "this cat is not legit" so it "auto removes all your equips"

So basically in short. You don't have a legit cat. so find the rules. and follow the rules, so your cat is "legit"

here is the link btw. https://gbatemp.net/threads/apm-mhx-mhgen-save-editor.434421/page-21#post-6536347

So essentially, I either transport items or pick them up. Which makes a lot of sense now why I'm not unlocking stuff even though I've been grinding quests.... since I'm not carving or collecting my rewards since I already have 99 of everything in my box.

He couldn't POSSIBLY be any more vague. Did you actually see this cat of his? I cannot imagine how he did it, since I opened up my save and poked around in there for a bit.

Would be nice if we could find a list that tells us of the things we need to transport.

Why is it when i create a full set deviant armor from equipment box it won't activate the deviant skill like 'dreadqueen' or 'dreadking'? Must I create it from scratch as in put in materials and forge it thru shops Or just play deviant quest one by one?

I believe it has to be upgraded to at least level 6 for the compound skill to activate.

Alright. Here's what I have so far on the remaining palico data (See pic)

Hex data.PNG

The red values are known as to their function, so ignore we can effectively them for these purposes.

0x5C-0x5E (highlighted in light blue) differ by hired 'forte', but don't differ between palicos of the same hired forte and have no apparent effects (as manually changing forte doesn't change this bit the palico appears no different in-game - stats or otherwise). These values are actually all 00 on DLC palicos and again, there is no apparent effect on the palico. (note the byte after this is not included in this because it does change and is confirmed to be the palico identifier for trading purposes.)

0x58-0x5B are what I'm testing now Just confirmed: these have no visible impact on the palico. These stats are the same on literally every hired palico (except DLC palicos, which again are all 00 bytes with no apparent skill effects). If these really are the bytes that control stats, that would explain why all cats have the same stats with the exception of forte-based adjustments (which auto-calculate on changing forte) again, they're not the bytes we're looking for.

0xDC and 0xDE are complete unknowns as this particular cat has values there where virtually every other cat I've checked has had 00 bytes there. There's a slim possibility it has something to do with hiring by forte/targeting preference, but I don't have anything solid as of yet.

I'll update this post if anything changes as a result of testing in the next few minutes

Where, precisely, is this at? What file do you have open? A .catz file or the system file itself?
a .catz file I changed all info in the editor to something I could immediately recognize in the hex editor then replaced it with 'FF' bytes when I opened the catz file in the editor (the red shows a change to the file). Near the end, I noticed a series of bytes that repeated "00 00 00 FF" which parallels a null color slot (unused like the null equip slots after the weapon, head, body slots), and I accounted for the active status/DLC flags, etc that's not explicitly in the editor but has been found.

I ask because I couldn't find the bytes you showed on the palico I looked at. I couldn't by scanning, and H&D says it can't find it either.

Shame those weren't the bytes you were looking for. 04 seems like it would have been right for the defense. Although I wonder... Would they have to level up for this change to take effect? I know Pokemon do when you edit their stats. This isn't Pokemon, but it's just a thought.

No. I 'brute force leveled' several cats (set to 50, set exp to the same as my cat that was already 50) and the stats auto adjusted. These are not like EVs and do not need to be forcibly re-calculated by moving/using them pokemon stats do.

I was specifically speaking of IVs, but all right.

What's the difference between the .catz file and the system file? Is there any chance the data would be in the system file somehow, and not included in the cat data?

I hate to double post, but everyone else does it and the forum merges it anyway, so...

Edit: guess the forum doesn't merge. Oops. Sorry.

Is it possible that those three bytes are some kind of game ID number? All of my cats have this at 58-5B:

It is possible - considering there would only be 255 different palico slots with just the 0x5F ID value.
