Lali ho!
With Xmas not too far away now, even if we're not past Halloween yet, I started looking for things to save up for today, little trinkets and tokens of my appreciation to my friends for their support over the last year. It's been a difficult year for me, and it's not over yet, but many people have helped me this year, so I have many gifts to buy. So far I've found several things for that one special someone that I know she'll love, a few gifts for my relatives, and some things for my friends. I have a long way to go yet, but I'm curious. How do you all handle Christmas? Do you celebrate it? If so, what do you do? Spend it with your family? Go to church? Grab whatever games await you under the tree and become a seasonal gaming hermit?
What are everyone's plans regarding Christmas presents? Do you buy any? Who for? Do you get more than you give, or the other way around? I'll start.
I don't generally consider much of Christmas, as most of my family are pure evil. I make the effort to send those that aren't a seasonal greeting of some kind, but that's about it. This year is a little different, as my extended family have been in contact much more, so I'll be sending them a little something at the very least, even if it's just a tin of chocolates to share (my resources are far from endless), aside from one gag gift I have in mind for one of my cousins.
I always make the effort to send a little something to a select few companions who I simply wouldn't be the same without, who have stuck with me through countless trials as very close friends. One lives in New Zealand yet I'll still make the effort to get her a little something if at all possible.
That one special someone in my life gets something heartfelt. Right now technically I'm single, but that's a debatable status if ever there was one, long story. I've still got her something that I know she'll appreciate. Something rare, and it should have been expensive but I know a guy...
I also get myself a little something, because it's rare that most of the people I know are capable or inclined, usually due to crippled finances, so I get myself a new game or something, just so I don't spend the holiday season completely empty handed.
What about you?
