Hacking Anyone ever tried to bring GC (offline) LAN mode to Wii (U)?

Has anyone ever tried to bring the LAN mode to the Wii? would be interesting, since the normal GC Broadband Adapter is pretty expensive, and the GC is a bit harder to mod than a Wii. And Wii consoles are relatively cheap on Ebay.

I'm thinking about 8 Wii consoles+TV on a Network Splitter for 16 Players.


(The Triforce Games had a Network mode, aswell. I remember, that F-Zero AX machines can connect for Multiplayer.
