It's no problem I'm used to it here on Gbatemp so I really don't take too many hits personally I ussually just respond in the most calm manner I can and hope it doesn't feed into the "flame war" even more.

QUOTE(dsrules @ Aug 20 2009, 02:24 PM) talk about disappointed, how about 3 months without an update to the Sakura firmware, that's like no update ever since Touchpod 4.3f came out and now it's up to 4.3i
what could possibly take them so long just to update the game engine part (game fixes) of Sakura?even if they're working on some new functions and having difficulty with it, they could still just update the game engine part of the firmware and release it rather than keep people waiting, waiting, and waiting and complaining.....

I think the reason for that is because they've been focusing on the M3i alot lately, I think by the time the next big game comes out they'll release an update (that's what they did when China Town Wars came out, so I bet they'll release an update when Kingdom hearts comes out to auto patch it and hopefully add/fix some thing). I myself am fine with how Sakura is now, I mean omg cheat descriptions get cut off lol but I guess other people can get annoyed by the fact they don't fix such a basic problem. Everyone's got their own opinion.

thank you for your understanding and i hope we can put this hole thing behind us, oh and i updated to 1.4 accidentally so im a bit more impatient now

vergilite,
i can understand you are being impatient because you had updated to 1.4...
isn't that normal especially if DSi is part of your life
smile.gif

thank god, there isn't any great games came out since end of july till today
therefore, just wait a little while more

OH and the DSI is part of my life

haha, i think its hilarious that people are so upset. Nobody owes you a thing, you buy something which to begin with is illegal and now you're upset that its been blocked out? Give me a break, its just a game!!

Anyway, if you're like me you'll just put your DS away for a few months and then come back when it's fixed. Why waste your energy hassling? Get a new DSi flashcart if its sooo important to you. They're all relatively cheap.

Well, I belive that M3 has streched themselves to far. With the M3Real, Sakura, 3 new R4s, M3iZero. Thats alot of stuff to update every time a troublesome game pops up. And now they are going to have to work around every firmware that blocks the cart. This all together means (to me at least) that updates will be slow to come. Also that certian things might get looked over. I don't belive that Nintendo is going to take the piracy issue as lightly as it has in the past. They will keep this firmware thing going till they either make it to hard to work around or that you have to go thru so much trouble to get it to work its worthless. I mean geez look what all we had to do before slot one cards came out. Back then it took an amount of skill and knowledge to operate a flash kit. So piracy was at an acceptable level. Since, the slot ones make it so easy anyone can do this with very little skill or knowledge. They are going to fight it tooth and nail. Anyway I know im slightly off subject but this has been on my mind for awhile now.
Hope it helps.

wat ur saying is true
it wasnt that easy for the teams to find a workaround for their flash cards
i thot m3 was going to be first but now that i think abiut it , they have created so many diff flash cards and they have to update those too
they also have different firmwares like touch pod and sakura and the games tht give thm trouble, m3 has to fix that too
so it makes sense for them to take long

Flashcarts ARE NOT ILLEGAL, they are just hollow game cartridges now the firmware is technically illegal because it can run pirated games but that doesn't mean it IS illegal. Alot of people use flashcarts for legal purposes such as homebrew and legal backups. Hmmm I guess since you can download illegal stuff from torrenting then torrenting itself should be illegal, oop you can burn illegal stuff to a CD or DVD we gotta ban those too and the DVD/CD readers, and you can get most illegal stuff on the internet soooo we gotta shut down the internet ohhh sorry.

I'm pretty sure the 3 new R4s are pretty much not getting any more updates because I don't think they were updateable so they can't get around 1.4's block.

Well it says this on the front page of the site.

DSi v1.4 Important Update!
Please DO NOT update your firmware of DSi to v1.4 if your card is bought before 13rd, August. The new offical firmware of v1.4 blocks any third part card. We fixed this issue. The R4i that is bought after on 13rd, August works on DSi of v1.4. We'll publish the new firmware to update your card if it's brought before 13rd, August. Please pay your patience. Enjoy your game and have funny.

Sounds like they fixed it to me.

You're looking at the wrong site, that's not the M3's R4. The m3's R4 website is here: http://www.r4rts.cn/

QUOTE(PharaohsVizier @ Aug 22 2009, 01:23 PM) @DeltaBurnt - I'm pretty sure flash carts are illegal. First off, there is no such thing as "legal backups" because even if you own a game, or do whatever those myths tell you, you know keep the game in your possession for under an hour or whatever, it is still illegal. Nothing you can do will make having a rom legal. Also, I believe that DS Lite carts are legal if they are completely empty, however, to my understanding, most of the DSi flash carts, even pre-1.4 firmware uses a string of code that is illegal because it belongs to Nintendo. While they haven't dumped the entire game or stolen icons like they did now, they still contain bits of code that belongs to Nintendo. The only DSi cart that can be truly legal is the M3i Zero which is shipped completely empty, and unless you keep it in a non-working state, it will eventually become illegal. Not to mention how many people actually use flash carts for only legal purposes? I don't know anyone in real life that does, and I'm pretty sure most if not all of the people that say they use the carts for legal purposes are lying...

Well backups of games you already own are morally legal as in you know it's yours and you should have the right to back it up you feel no guilt and you feel that you should not be imprisoned or punished for it because I see it as like songs you should have the right to back it up. And I forgot about the DSi flashcarts and how they use the copyrighted sting to exploit the DSi I stand corrected.
