Gaming Anybody know more about this

Last I heard, they were doing a 3-step method in the UK.
1st time you get banned from the internet for a week.
2nd time you get banned for about 3 months.
3rd time you get fined.

I'm not sure whether that was ever carried through or not though. Anyone care to explain if they know any more?

That was to do with Virgin Media broadband and the British music industry. I continued to download music and never received a warning letter, I believe the plan is now over.

If they do sue you for downloading video games you can simply sue them back for invasion of privacy. If I am not mistaken you can't be a witness to your own actions so the only way they can prove it is by illegally tracking your internet traffic and then getting your address from your ISP when your ISP is bound by law not to give out customers addresses.
I am not paying £300 "fine" for something they could have easily fabricated, and it would most likely not go to court anyway due to the bad press etc.
