AnyRegion Changer v1.0
by tona

Description:

This program will let you edit any and all of the region information on your
Wii, and allow you to install System Menu 3.2 from any region if you so
desire. The setting changes are the result of a setting change library I've
been working on for a while called sysconf.c. The System Menu Installer
uses patchmii as a simple base for web installations. It also uses some
IOS patches (by bushing/waninkoko) in the event that the system menu
or IOS30 needs to be downgraded. The Setting changes have been
tested again and again, and the worst you can do to your system is
cause a semi-brick. The System Menu Installer is done in a way even
safer than Waninkoko's Downgrader, so there's certainly no worries there.

Country Codes:
A near-complete listing of country codes can be found at:
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Country_Codes

Precautions:

This software comes with NO WARRANTY WHATSOEVER. You may use this
software at your own risk. I can take no responsibility for any damage
caused by this application.

Please take note of the following:
-If setting.txt is corrupted for any reason, it is entirely possible that
your Wii will no longer boot.
-Be careful not to change Video mode to a mode unsupported by your
display.
-If you change your Country code, you will be unable to receive any
pending gifts you have in the Wii Shop Channel. (The shop will also
warn you of this)
-If you set the EULA to Read, you may be accessing Nintendo
Network Services illegally. You should only change this setting to
"read" if you have actually read and accepted the EULA for the
Country code you have set.

Compiling:

To compile this, you will need libogc cvs with the patch in libogc_patches
applied, and you will have to provide System Menu identification items
in the data directory.

License:

Patchmii is licensed under the GPLv2, and as such a copy of the license is
included. The non-patchmii material is under a BSD-like license.

Credits:

bushing, svpe, and everyone else for their wonderful work on patchmii.
Waninkoko for his title_version check IOS patch, and for inspiring me to
do a better job.
Anyone brave enough to test for me. ChipD, SoraK05, crediar.
And a shout out to SquidMan who fights many of the same fights I do.

Have fun guys

but i guess you better not change the console mode to make sure your settings menu doesn't crash like on the video...

but if you change the shopping region, you really can shop from other countries?

so you can buy vc/wiiware that isn't released at your own region?

yep works you can even use your wiipoints in other regions, you could even buy japanese wiipoints which are 6Euro per 1000 instead of 10Eur per 1000 in europe

Well that would certainly be nice. I want to add msx injection support but I don't have access to the files. Also I can't seem to "aquire" them anywhere for reverse-engineering. (subtle hint).

The question is though.... once you change the shop region are all your purchases on the real region null and void? (In other words you can't re-download a title anymore.)

That can't be legal, can it?

i think this would be indead a great chance to try msx injection

i don't know about the purchases after changing the shop channel region as i didn't try this yet... i hope somebody who tried this can give us a hint, but i do think you still can as the purchases are locked to your vip account and your vip account doesn't change...

Seems lot more serious than Waninkoko's quickly done stuff

thanks a lot of Tona, we definitely need a "Twiizer Knockaround" guy like you

and a big thanks for sharing the sourcecode also, way to go

Cool! But would the downloaded Japanese game work if the Wii Was Set to Region US for example?

It's interesting you can't change the TV, just a shame you can't have NTSC and PAL (unless I'm mistaken).

i have jap wii with D2CKEY

can i change only the system menu language without bricking my wii?

i know that if i want to make full region change i need to change my D2CKEY as well, but i dont have the ability to do it.
therefore i want to stay in the jap wii but only to change the system menu, setting menu to english.
can i do it with this software?

So in order to still play the downloaded Japanese game, the region would have to be Japanese but the language could be in English? Fair enough. At least it's possible to dump them and then we can make the wad region free and install it back on the rom.

but still, i dont understand. can i play backup games without any problem afterward?

Well, if you change your region it should work fine. But I should go safe and use GeckoOS still until something is more safe.

EDIT: sorry about that
