Hacking Any progress on a VC region patcher?

I do not get anything from this
I type commanmd and wad file does nothing on screen type command wad and poopie do not get a selection screen nothign

in the command line window

put the freethewads.exe,both the crypto-something.dll files,the wad in the same folder

the run command navigate to your folder then type this

freethewads.exe gametitle.wad

then press enter

done

I did nothing happens a blink of the screen then i check the wad and says it is still pal

typed freethewads.exe title.wad poopie (nothign) no selection of pal ntsc jap etc nothing

seems it works but no idea why it doesnt for me lol

running vista home prem
in command prompt window
extracted zip all files in zip are in dir
no idea why it doestn work lol

going to try a dif wad see if make a dif ....hmm must not liek super ghouls did excitebike and it came up with a screen thanks for replies

hm. havent tried it yet. how come it works for some.
instructions doesnt seem to hard.
try release a .bat file for the ones that didnt get it to work maybe.
seems very close to get it workin

Hey death69inc,

I had EXACTLY the same problem. What I do is I drag the actual wad over the freethewads.exe file. A black box very quickly flashes on the screen - that means it's worked. I didn't think anything had happened, but I tried installing the wad, and everything worked perfectly - now have OoT, Actraiser, SMW all in English on my Wii. I think Vista just doesn't give the selection screen - the program works, though

ok so far i have tried these files from pal to free

excitebike (did not see it on list lol assume it does not work as its nes )

castlevania 4 (lockup)
final fight (lockup)

golden axe (works)
lylatwars didnt knwo it was starfox (works screen cutoff )
mario picross (lockup)
pacman (lockup)
pinball (lockup)
phantasy star 3 (works)
rtype 3 (msg can not use this channel????)
super street fighter the world warriors (lockup)
sonic the hedgehog 3 (works)


ok from what i see pal to free works for all sega tg16 64 games tested
did not work for any new or super nes so far

I take it you have actrasier workign must have went from ntsc to free

ok more testing change region from pal to ntsc and snes no longer locks up gives can not use this channel error (WONDERING IF WE CAN CHANGE THE INSTALL DIR SO ThaT INSTEAD using PAL VER INSTALL IT WILL BE NTSC INSTALL folder ) meaning the installs and save files go into dirs pal vers I think end with p ntsc j end with j etc etc I know I read folder list somewhere nintendo might have made them not load if ntsc is tring to load a pal installed game even if the region has been changed lol never know. Is a thought and please forgive if there is spelling errors

if we where able to change the install dir to the ntsc dir in the wad maybe ?????

Shame that this prog doesnt get the NTSC games to run at 60hz on PAL Wii's though, thats my main grip with PAL VC games at the moment, being in 50hz

Mario 64 and injected smash bros 64 works perfectly 480p 60hz. Mario kart 64 still 50 hz

have tried this method with Okiraku Ping-Pong Jap (wiiware), didnt work (stops at installation, gives some error) . so, any comments on this?

Couldn't we just inject european ROMs into region free patched NTSC channels? I don't have a PAL Wii to test it on, but I've been talking and sending files back and forth with someone who does, and when he installed an NTSC Starfox 64 channel I injected with the Lylat Wars ROM he said it worked perfectly...
