Whenever I try to downgrade my 2DS using dgTool, it always states "failed to open sd files". I've switched cards (with all of the neccessary stuff on it) and made sure the exploit was working properly. I even dumped my firmware and it worked just fine. I'm pretty sure I followed all directions and both Sub-Wars and Fieldrunners transferred fine. What can I do about this?

Manually do it, use firmtool and dump your nand. Use autofirm to downgrade the nand, restore it then.

Thanks! Is that safe or has been done before? I don't wanna doubt you, but downgrading recklessly is a dangerous process and I'd have to 100% sure that this is effective.

It's the original method of dsiware downgrade, I used it and I was fine.

Alrighty, just to clarify--by firmtool do you mean Wintermule's? Or the older version of dgtool? Is there a pastebin or guide using the older method or what? Sorry, this is someone's else system and I'd really love not to screw up :)

Anything that allows nand backup and restore is fine. And I haven't found and guides for the old method.

Great, what's the downgrader that you used specifically? I'd use it through the Fieldrunners exploit, right? Any downgrader doesn't cut it since some have stability differences and others are old as dirt.

It was something called fwtool, and it wasn't a downgrader. It just restored and backed up nand. I used autofirm to downgrade the nand on the computer.

Autofirm? It doesn't look like it's integrated with fwTool like it is with dgTool sooooo how do you expect me to downgrade anything? I see nothing relating to autofirm anywhere. Thank you for being so patient with me

How about you just restart the dsiware downgrade and see if it works.

Tried downgrading (recopied dgTool's boot.nds) and it's done the same exact thing. I can't redo the process unless I system transfer back + forth again...which makes very little sense given the purpose of the transfer was to be able to transfer the exploited save game onto the other.
