Hey, can you tell me exactly what I need to do to change a villager's name and/or appearance if I can with any existing tool(s)?

If you want to change a player's name you will have to do it with an hex editor (go to the RAM editing thread and ask for help there, this thread is for the RAM/save editor ). You will need to replace all coincidences of your name and ID, it's very important.

If you talk about neighbors' names, that can only be done through ROM editing.

I have a problem with this particular site, which says that I have ''Invalid RAM file.'' This site however works.
The RAM file also doesn't work in the ACNL map editor. I load the file, and nothing happens. Just a black screen.

Ah, okay. So I just need to change any occuring values of the 3rd playable character's current name to the new one with a hex editing program?

You're using a very old format of RAM file, support for that format (768kb) has been discontinued. Please use the latest dumper to get the smaller (512kb) version.

You can truncate the file to fit it to the current size if you need to.

Double post, but it looks like map editor executable still doesn't want to work. Same stuff as before happens when I load in the new RAM. Any idea what to do?

I've done a lot of testing and it seems to work flawlessly. But it's always a good moment to remember that you are using these tools at your own risk.

Hey, I've got the same issue. Tried using the up to date dumper, didn't work. It's still 768KB.

Oh, nevermind. After replacing the RAM editor files about 3 times and actually deleting the current dump it actually created the 512KB version.

Can somebody tell me exactly how the Item Generator is supposed to work, please?

When I scan the QR code it goes to the page and it looks like it might be doing something but no. I get like a notification - 'An error has occurred. Please save your data in any software currently in use, then restart the system.'
And then there's no change in my game.

My 3DS is Ver. 5.1.0-10E
And my browser is 1.7498

I'm really just looking for the sloppy series tbh, so you could help me out that way either. ;D

Having trouble finding the "latest dumper" to use. I'm not using cfw so i clicked the link for the "ram solution" and used the QR's like normal but it's still saying invalid ram file.

Can somebody tell me what the latest links are and what i have to download for it to dump and inject? I tried almost everything, and the links and qr codes never work. I checked with different SD cards and game cartridges too, I even checked my system, its 9.4 and my browser is 1.7567.

Mostly because the qr code/url that you're using is down
