I think I made a discovery on how campsite villagers work! I’m not sure what would happen if no villager is present in the campsite before changing anything, but if you scan an amiibo into your campsite, at 0x4F6D94 and 0x4F6D95 are the ids for the villager. 0x4F6D95 is the species of animal (Ex. cat, dog, horse...) and 0x4F6D94 is the individual id of the villager (Ex. 03 02 Twiggy, 05 02 Piper, 0F 02 Lucha...). I haven’t tested out everything yet but I do know that individual ids correspond to the model numbers for the villagers. Here’s the hex values for species.

Code:
Animal Species Hex Values
00 - Anteater
01 - Bear
02 - Bird
03 - Bull
04 - Cat
05 - Cub
06 - Chicken
07 - Cow
08 - Alligator
09 - Deer
0A - Dog
0B - Duck
0C - Elephant
0D - Frog
0E - Goat
0F - Gorilla
10 - Hamster
11 - Hippo
12 - Horse
13 - Koala
14 - Kangaroo
15 - Lion
16 - Monkey
17 - Mouse
18 - Octopus
19 - Ostrich
1A - Hawk
1B - Penguin
1C - Pig
1D - Rabbit
1E - Rhino
1F - Sheep
20 - Squirrel
21 - Tiger
22 - Wolf

Sorry if any of this is confusing or wrong, I’m pretty new to hex editing.

Instead of making an entire thread for this since it's most likely going to be outdated once the actual save editor gets released i'm just going to post how to upload custom design patterns here for people who are impatient (me).

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BREAK YOUR SAVE FILE! MAKE BACKUPS...

Step 1) Backup your save files using JKSV

WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP YOUR SAVE FILES BECAUSE IF THE HEX EDITING IS DONE WRONG (chances are very likely will the first time) YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO RESTORE TO THE ORIGINAL, SO MAKE SURE TO BACK IT UP SOMEWHERE SAFE!!!

Step 2) You are going to need to decrypt your save files using HorizonCrypt. I recommend putting all your saves in one folder then decompiling the entire folder. Make sure to use command line to decrypt the saves
Code:
 HorizonCrypt.exe -b -d <Folder with Save>

Step 3) Now that the files are decrypted we can begin swapping the images! This is also going to be the harder part of this tutorial.
We are going to need to go into the decrypted folder and open main.dat in a hex editor (any hex editor will do i'm using HxD). Once the main.dat is open in the hex editor we have to goto line 001D7200 for that is where the designs are stored.

Step 4) Download your favorite .ACNL pattern design from a storage website like acpatterns.com

Step 5) open your main.dat and your desired pattern in your hex editor. This involves trial and error, you are basically trying to replace the hex of a existing pallet with the hex of the custom pallet. It's very tricky and most times it's not going to work unless you start getting a good feel of it. In this example i'm going to be replacing a blank pallet.

Step 6) Re-encrypt your entire save folder by typing:
Code:
 HorizonCrypt.exe -b -c "<original folder name> Decrypted"

Step 7) This is the helpful part of HorizonCrypt, if you made a mistake in your hex editing it will tell you... by not telling you! Here is the picture example of a successful encryption:

This is what a unsuccessful encryption looks like:

Step 8) Now, place the files inside the new encrypted folder into your sdroot/JKSV/Animal Crossing New Horizons directory of your switch (using a FTP client is helpful) then go back to the JKSV app and restore the newly edited save file!

Step 9: Profit) Now you should be able to successfully boot up your game aswell as see your new pattern design!
Now you just have to edit the colors and you won, you beat nintendo's ban/avoided paying for online services. Congrats, Nintendo's bashing their head against a wall right now!

EDIT: ill make it into a thread so people stop asking in this thread aswell

apologies if this has been asked but i searched up to page 23 and still havent found anything so i might as well just ask. any mod to change the id on the fly? instead of having to go into the sd card and change it all the time? i know we can change x1 x5 etc amounts but just wondering if id can be changed yet. if not do we have more slot modification codes? so we can change multiple item slots instead of just the first one.

Yes you can, I've given them to friends and myself to get a 10k mile boost to kick-start their sub-files so they can skip the whole intro and make extra buildings.

It sounds like you are doing local co-OP. If that's the case, you need to drop the tools then shake your remote to swap to the other person as leader, then they can pick up items.
Yes it was local Co-op hehe thanks.

So, with your first code, (credit to @Traiver here for his explanation on page 18)
04100000 AC3B90C0 00000XXX - Indicates the Item Value. The 16E0 is a Stone Axe that's unbreakable. If you wanted to replace the item with say a Gold Nugget, it'd be 09C9. You can find the Item IDs here: https://pastebin.com/raw/B8N5KKsh *(If there's an updated link, let me know and I'll replace it.)
04100000 AC3B90C4 000000XX - Indicates the Item Amount. It's not as simple as entering in a number, but if you wanted to multiply it by say x30, you'd put 1D as the last two characters.

To change the Item Slot, I believe you're editing this portion of the code:
AC3B9XXX
AC3B9XXX

Slot 1: 0C0 / 0C4
Slot 2: 0C8 / 0CC
Slot 3: 0D0 / 0D4
Slot 4: 0D8 / 0DC
Slot 5: 0E0 / 0E4
Slot 6: 0E8 / 0EC
Slot 7: 0F0 / 0F4
Slot 8: 0F8 / 0FC
Slot 9: 100 / 104
Slot 10: 108 / 10C
Slot 11: 110 / 114
Slot 12: 118 / 11C

I've not seen any codes for item slots beyond 12, but if you follow the pattern, you should be able to keep going.

I am new to these codes, but I got most of this from observing what was said in the thread as well as codes on https://www.switchcheatsdb.com/ by @patjenova so if I've got anything wrong, please correct me!
you ever find the code to the rest of them? youre the only one that ive seen thats posted somewhat of what im looking for!!

Make sure there is nothing in your inventory before use. If anything is in any slots, it will be gone or overwritten by whatever item you put in the code. Back up your save, I did not test these and I'm not positive how accurate they are. I'm just guessing based off of patjenova's work.

04100000 AC3B90C0 0000xxxx <--- for the item itself, make sure to put a 0 in front if there are only three characters, like 0aaa.
04100000 AC3B90C4 000000xx <--- for the stack amount, some materials can stack up to 50, 30, 10, etc. 00 = 1 item, 09 = 10 items, 1d = 30 items. You can use this to get the stack number you want, just make sure to subtract by one. If you want 30 items for example, then enter 29 into the decimal to hexadecimal converter. Note: only certain things can stack like material. Most material stacks up to 30 but some stacks up to 10 only such as cherry-blossom petals, fruit, bamboo spouts, star fragments, etc.

[Example code - 10 stack of maple leaf]
04100000 AC3B90C0 00001cce
04100000 AC3B90C4 00000009

[Example code - 30 stack of bamboo piece]

Hoping someone can test this; what happens if, using cheat codes, you set into your inventory a) a stacked item that normally isn't stackable (i.e. 30 apple trees) or b) a stacked item higher than the allowed amount (i.e. 50 apples).

Thank you!
Nothing will happen it just won't stack.

apologies if this has been asked but i searched up to page 23 and still havent found anything so i might as well just ask. any mod to change the id on the fly? instead of having to go into the sd card and change it all the time? i know we can change x1 x5 etc amounts but just wondering if id can be changed yet. if not do we have more slot modification codes? so we can change multiple item slots instead of just the first one.
Not currently. Rydog wants to but we need to pointers for doing such things first.

For anyone on SXOS, this is how I got cheats to work:
(AC 1.1.0 on Switch 9.2.0)

Download .txt from page 32 post #635 and place into /sxos/titles/01006F8002326000/cheats/

Activate cheats through SXOS cheat menu.

Hi i am trying to connect to animal crossing servers via lanplay and i can not successfully do it in atmosphere. My friends who are all in sxos can connect easily.

There is a part in the instruction to use idn_mtm and i put everything in my sd card. question: do i need to run idn mtm as a homebrew? Clueless here as to what it is for.

Having trouble searching threads for the info you want? Well, gbatemp doesn't have great UX for it, but here's how to do it:

Click the search icon at the top right:

Then click the gear that comes up:

upload_2020-3-24_0-40-53.png

This lets you access the main XenForo search tool:

Check the box for "Search this thread only" if you think what you're looking for is possibly in this thread. If that doesn't work, try "Search this forum only" to expand your search. It should come up with a list of posts listed from post relevant. Try just using a word or two like "slots" or "durability" if you're looking for something specific.

---------------

On an unrelated note (except that I did already search this thread and the forums), has anyone found the offsets for shop hours? I've got a sleep disorder, and that is thing most getting in my way. Much appreciated if anyone finds it! :)

If no one has it, I might see if I can find some time to look into how to actually search for Switch codes; I'm familiar with memory editing/assembly, but haven't done it for the Switch yet. Thanks for reading!

ayy guys I posted a folder with all insects, fossils, fish. The codes seem to be working well, just insects and fish DO NOT GET ADDED TO YOUR LIST, they get added to your inventory and to the museum but not the insect/fish list itself, anyone know how to fix this?
I know it has something to do probably with a flag when you do capture it ingame instead of adding it automatically to your inventory.
I've posted what I've tried on my OP post on the link provided.

We need a unlock all Insect/Fish code list code!

It is very annoying, I have the codes to get ALL the museum stuff,to which they get added but not saved to your insect/fish list in the ZL button screen app

Hey man, did you manage to find a way to unlock the Critterpedia after donating all fish and bugs to the museum?
I can swear that I see somewhere a person mentioning that you can unlock the whole critterpedia by changing some Hex values in your save, the person even added the address to look for and some pictures. I've been looking everywhere and can't find that post. :(
