Animal Crossing for the GameCube has been decompiled

Another monumental fan effort has been achieved. The team behind the Animal Crossing decompilation have reached 100% progress on recreating the game's code. This isn't a full 100%, as noted by project creator Cuyler, who states that there's still work left to do, but it means Animal Crossing for the GameCube can be modded fully, and soon ported to other platforms, once released. Additionally, the same team has been working on backporting and translating content from the Japanese-exclusive Dobutsu no Mori e+ into a project called Animal Crossing Deluxe.

It's my pleasure to announce that as of <t:1750082820:R>, Animal Crossing's [decompilation](https://github.com/ACreTeam/ac-decomp) hit 100% matching and linked game code. While not fully 100%, the way the game is set up means that we can fully mod the game. There's still some work to do on supporting libraries like the GameCube SDK, among others. However, this does not impact modding. **HUGE** shoutout to everyone who contributed and supported the project along the way! This has been 2.5 years in the making! I'll have a more fitting announcement when we hit complete 100% in the future!

Decomp projects continue to bring me massive amounts of joy. Honestly with how much steady work I've seen on the many different games, I guess I can start a wishlist of games that I'd love(but won't be) to be decompiled.

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, and Kirby Air Ride( I know Riders is coming out, but not sure what it sets out to do yet since we have no knowledge so I'll just have interest in the OG getting decomped and modded to high hell).

I really recommend this one to anyone who got started with the series later on. While it can feel a little boring at times, the animal dialogue, overall vibe, and jank really make it fun. I've been following the fan translation progress of Dbnme+ since before I even joined GBAtemp, and now, thanks to this decompilation, it's finally here.

STEAM DECK PORT! STEAM DECK PORT! STEAM DECK PORT!!
To do that, the impressive thing will be wrapping / supporting the calls to the gamecube sdk - things like graphics, making that work on "pc".
I just want to see how they do it! And yep once they do, we can have all sorts of ports, looking forward to that.

Would be neat if this decomp led to an N64 port of the GameCube title so we have it in English

Imagine playing this in its full glory on its intended console
There's already an English patch for animal forest on the N64, and it's pretty good tbh.

This definitely will help with modding the game. I prefer this game even if I played the DS game way more cause portability.
