Animal Crossing for the GameCube has been decompiled

Another monumental fan effort has been achieved. The team behind the Animal Crossing decompilation have reached 100% progress on recreating the game's code. This isn't a full 100%, as noted by project creator Cuyler, who states that there's still work left to do, but it means Animal Crossing for the GameCube can be modded fully, and soon ported to other platforms, once released. Additionally, the same team has been working on backporting and translating content from the Japanese-exclusive Dobutsu no Mori e+ into a project called Animal Crossing Deluxe.

It's my pleasure to announce that as of <t:1750082820:R>, Animal Crossing's [decompilation](https://github.com/ACreTeam/ac-decomp) hit 100% matching and linked game code. While not fully 100%, the way the game is set up means that we can fully mod the game. There's still some work to do on supporting libraries like the GameCube SDK, among others. However, this does not impact modding. **HUGE** shoutout to everyone who contributed and supported the project along the way! This has been 2.5 years in the making! I'll have a more fitting announcement when we hit complete 100% in the future!

New Leaf is better by a little bit...

New Horizons was so fucking bare bones compared to the content New Leaf had
new leaf is 100% the best entry, gah damn i hope whatever comes out on the switch 2 can come even close but after NH i'm not holding my breath

It's a shame there's no tool or anything to romhack Wild World easily.
It is one of the AC games where the characters have alot more personality and cool interactions.
PG is better then :)
WW isn't bad compared to the later ones, but that's the point, it's been a downhill slope since the beginning, only in PG they would actually insult you or hold a grudge...

I request a mod for gamecube that add animal forest features like placing things around town and other things that wasnt added to population growing to be added similar to animal crossing city folk deluxe. Please. All things animal crossing in one game

This is really awesome that they've done it, but for this to be compiled to run natively on PC either there needs to be a huge rewrite of the codebase, or a reimplementation of the Gamecube SDK using a modern compute/graphics stack needs to be done.

For all the N64 ports out there, they went with the latter (libultraship is a modern reimplementation of all the functions in the N64 SDK). Is there any effort like that currently ongoing for Gamecube?

Hey, I want to find the original 3d model of the bell shrine, looked around the github but can't find it, I'm not that good with those files. Can someone help me by maybe telling what file is it and where it is located? Thanks :)

Model and texture data aren't in the repository. You need to decompile your existing ROM to get that.

I'm wondering the same, can't really find anything

A 3ds port with the ability to flash the deluxe mod would make me so happy! I'm glad to see the PC port is being worked on.
