the problem is that minecraft needs to be always rendering everything... or someone told me something like that xD

if you set up a local server on another machine with good spec you can get it running on some real old ones
The client PC running Minecraft is still rendering everything that is in memory. This is not changed by playing on a server; that only adds more lag.

lol i had it working on it
seemed to take stress off the machine
it was some crazy java set up

iPhone minecraft i cant see happening

Code:
Does the iPhone support Java?

No. The iPhone will not support Java applications of any kind. Steve Jobs has been quoted as saying "Java's not worth building in. Nobody uses Java anymore. It's this big heavyweight ball and chain."

We can't disagree with the last part of Jobs' scathing remark, but stating that Java doesn't get used anymore couldn't be farther from the truth - especially in the world of mobile devices.

In any event, the iPhone will not offer Java support.

Say, shouldn't you actually have FINISHED the game before you start porting it?
It's not like you can just multi-plat a java game...nah, nevermind, that's just silly.

Actually you're right, the game needs to always be rendering. The game is actually TERRIBLY inefficiently programmed, the deceptively simple nature of the game is too taxing of a task for even my laptop to run playable.
Even worse is that the game is constantly read/writing from the user profile, which depending on the work station (IE: Networked profiles in education or workplace), the game can become unplayable.

Tell me, were you excited when you heard about CoD MW3? How 'bout that, is it any different? No, it's not; there are a lot of things that are announced before they are made.

Here there is a video of the Pocket Edition running on Xperia Play.

...how on EARTH is that an even REMOTELY accurate analogy? Announcing something and actually DOING that something are completely different.

Remotely accurate? He was talking about anouncing things before they are released (Minecraft on Android), the exact same thing happened with CoD MW3.

No; he was talking about Minecraft not being a finished game as it stands now. It's still in beta...
