Hardware Amiiqo - who's got one??

Hi all,

I've just found the amiiqo online and I've been looking at a few reviews. It looks like a very good product and something I would look at buying in try future.

The only thing that lets it down is the fact there is no iOS app however I'm hoping that will come soon.

Does anyone have their own review on this or has anyone seen or used it? Will an iOS app come to this device?

Well, I have one, and the iOS version does not exist simply due to the fact that you can't use the NFC on iOS. A USB version is coming soon though.

Other than that, what do you want to know? It works great as advertised

Ok so an iOS user would this device not work for me at the moment? Also when you switch amiibo character can you tell which amiibo you have selected?

Yeah, if you only have iOS, the your only option is to wait for the USB version to be released (It releases like.. Now. It could be any day now). iOS support will likely never happen

As for your second question, no that's one of the downsides of it. You can store up to 200 characters but it's not recommended by users to store more than a few because:

1- you don't know which characters you have currently selected
2- it would be a pain to shuffle through all character. For example if you want the character you stored in slot 100, you would have to change it a 100 times

That being said, this will be solved by a future update, and as far as I know, since you want the USB version. It will already be solved in that version since it's supposedly easier to do it on PC

I have one, it is great. The only thing that kind of stinks about it is that you have to cycle through each amiibo one at a time, meaning you have to scan your amiiqo over and over in the game you're playing until you get to the specific Amiibo you're looking for. So for example, if you just load up the Amiiqo with all the Smash fighters, then that's over 50 characters alone you may have to cycle through.
