ok so i was messing around with my 3ds's 1 being AP and the other normal one.

So i was wondering what would be transferred with a system transfer so i transferred From
AP device to non-AP device the AP goes over with the ability to downloaded and re-download each game.
and the AP device looses everything making it non AB

i wanted to test this for people wondering if a system transfer will ruin there AP rights or if anyone was going to buy one off E-bay or something

if this was already confirmed i apologize.
thank you and goodluck

Thanks for the confirmation~

unfortunately, my little brother already lost his opportunity to have the Ambassador games (even though he bought it full-price and before the deadline). ;O;
I could've (secretly) migrated them onto my (future) 3ds.

What is Transferred During the System Transfer Process?

Nintendo eShop Data
  • Content downloaded via the eShop, including associated game save data (DSiWare, 3DS Downloadable Software, Applications, Ambassador games and status)
  • Current account balance
  • Saved credit card information
http://www.nintendo....ta_transfer.jsp

Nintendo already told us, but thanks anyway :ha: It is not the 3DS that is the ambassador, it's the owner of the 3DS.

I've done that too. But if you check on Nintendo's site to see if a particular 3DS is ambassador, using the old one's serial number will still say it's eligible while the new one won't.

So, if I had two ambassador 3DS systems and I used system transfer from one to another, does one lose it's ambassador status?
Judging by the official site that's what it looks like.

I was hoping I could transfer mine to my brother's (he hasn't started using it yet) then format mine, then transfer back and have us both keep ambassador status. I guess not. :/
The reason is because my DS mode wifi is completely messed up, doesn't search or do download play or anything.

wait wait wait...I have those games saved onto my sd card though so shouldn't I be capable of just removing the card and just putting it in another? I can understand the inablility to copy the files but I would at least think I could just move them.

Formatting won't remove your ambassador status.
The shop data is saved somewhere else.
Really.

I know formatting doesn't remove ambassador status, but when I transfer one ambassador to another 3ds that already has ambassador, I think the first 3DS loses it...

Why do you need to transfer at all? Formatting will only affect your saves, not your eShop.
I don't want to lose my Friend Code, it would be kind of hard to find everyone I've added because their real names =/= their usernames...
And I have like 82 friends on my list.

Ah, okay.
Try borrowing a 3DS from a store? :P

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Nintendo.

Using the information you provided, I can confirm that your Nintendo 3DS system does qualify for the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Program. Congratulations!

Your Nintendo 3DS system will be added to the Ambassador Program. The process to update the Ambassador eligibility list begins every Tuesday. You should see your games by Wednesday January 25th, 2012.

Once the system has been added, you will be able to download the Ambassador games at no charge from the Nintendo eShop. To download your games, select "Settings/Other", then select "Your Downloads". The 10 NES Virtual Console games and the 10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games will be shown here. You'll need to scroll down to view them if you have purchased titles on your system before. The option to "Redownload" the games will be there, so that you can download them at no cost.

I hope you enjoy your games!

Sincerely,
