Moments before the beginning of Gamescom Amazon slashes the prices of Xbox One bundles with the Kinect 2.0 to aprox. €/£399 in Europe! Should we expect a permanent price cut announced at Gamescom? It's entirely possible - only time will tell. The Xbox One does have some catching up to do, it still lags behind the PS4 and the Wii U in terms of sales - perhaps a price cut like this would make it more competitive.​

The Titanfall bundle on the UK site also contains the game and it's just 399.95, so it's one step above the current PS4 bundles in terms of value, really. I do wonder if this is just something Amazon did within their network or if a price cut will be announced.

If the consoles aren't selling that well they may cut the price but something this large seems unlikely. The Xbox One hasn't done great after it's successful launch and I think they need to push more consoles. This plus a few big games coming this holiday (like the Halo Collection and Sunlight Yellow Overdrive or whatever it's called) are gonna be their big holiday push.

Really though I think Sony could easily cut their bundles down to $400 and stomp them. The Destiny bundle is $450 and the inFamous bundle is even more. Expect to see a ton of bundles from them this holiday.

More or less the same amount if you convert the Euro price, a little bit over 400 if you convert the pounds. Thing is, conversion rates hardly apply here - it's almost a tradition these days to set one flat "number" to Euro/Dollar/Pound price points regardless of conversion rates.

So what were Euro XBones selling for until now? They've been $399 in the US for a while now (since they took out mandatory Kinect).

Exactly. These are bundles with the Kinect. Before the sudden cut it was 399 for a Kinect-less SKU and 499 for the one with Kinect.

£399 with kinect in the UK wont even raise an eyebrow. Its still too much and these things aren't shifting. (if VGcharts are anything to go by, the Xbox One sold 12,000 consoles in Europe last week, crazy - in comparison, the WiiU shifted nearly double that)

Well, either way, from what I can tell they do adjust, but they are never a million miles away. This thing is currently dead in the water in Europe so its no wonder they cut the price. But its not enough.

I on the other hand expect the system to do very well in the UK as soon as there are some purchase-worthy titles out for it. Having been to the UK several times I can safetly say that it's Xbox Land - everybody and their dog has a 360 and once it's worth to upgrade, people will upgrade.

Even at £399 its still £50 more than the official PS4 price of £349. But even still the PS4 can be picked up in a LOT of places for £325 so I dont see how this is any good still. Unless the title was meant to read £299?

No, £429.99 RRP on release date. Thats why I dont get the excitement for the £399 price as of now. Its barely noticeable.

The standard bundle went down in price as well - all in all it's 399 for the Kinect + Titanfall bundle, 389 for the Kinect bundle and 349 for a Kinect-less one - that's cheaper than the PS4.

£349 for the kinectless one is the same RRP as the PS4. The PS4 has been £349.99 since release date. The fact is, the PS4 can be had from just about anywhere for about £325. The Xbox one, even with these cuts, in every capacity, is still more expensive in the UK.

To put it another way. The Xbox one hasnt managed to sell in almost 8 months what it sold in the first 6 weeks of being released here. It really is struggling. This price cut in UK is not enough.
