You could use GBArl.it.

Actually it's for italians, but it shouldn't be too hard to check. =)

P.S. Sorry for the spam. XD

That thing isn't an alternative. It's a carbon copy. I feel sorry for the owners and the members.
We've been watching them for ages, they've been copying our news using two useful key combinations, CTRL+C and CTRL+V (see what I mean?). They also copied almost every single idea we've had, they even copied the releases layout, everything.
The owners created it just so they could receive free sample kits.
You guys should make up a fake game, with a name with fake Japanese, and see what they do.

why would you want anything more than gbatemp? it is pure and complete, the only small prob can be sometimes the hombrew takes a while to be updated to the latest of all programs, but not too bad.

Well every time I check their site they have their updates faster. The NDS release and homebrew etc.

I see it on there before I do here.

They might have stole your layout but they get faster updates. Not saying they are better than gbatemp.

The only other site I go to besides this one for updated NDS news is ds-scene. ds-scene is good for up to date release info. Thats where I go to see what new games have been dumped. There is not much discussion on their forums tho. But I guess there wouldnt be much to talk about over there when everyone is over here.

ds-scene - for realeases...

moddz.com - for homebrew

nintendo dcemu.co.uk - for announcements

gbatemp.net - for forum

My problem with gbatemp, is that you can only 4 view 4 or 5 items on the title page, there is no scroll through... you have to go to the forums to see all the news.

and the other sites are more specific to the DS, not the wii or gba...

just my opinion

i still love you gbatemp

You can set the amount of items you want to see in your control panel, jalapeno. AFAIK, the max is set to 20. Besides, even if you Pseudo-Retro Fans just love seeing release #0001 of the 2 month old Wii scene, the search function is extremely fast.

While scrolling through every one of the releases is a nice idea in theory the amount of bandwith it would consume would probably hurt GBAtemp then it would help it. There's a reason why we now have a thing called GBAtemp Archive...

GBAtemp is pretty much the only site I need regarding current game releases to be honest. I mean, for general gaming news it's not as good as Digg, but what do you expect? This site is based more around the scene then the industry its based in.

dont become so defensive "the teej"

I'm allowed to compare this site to others, for better or worse,

umm... isnt that the point of this thread? people looking for alternatives?

That's totally not true. I've been a member nearly since the beginning of the site, and i've also been following the site. Mainly they are for homebrew news and stuff. And they had that segment way before gbatemp. And most of the time they are faster with the Releases than gbatemp is plus they nearly always post Screenshots of the games. And if it would be true that they just want free samples they wouldn't give them away in their next DS Tournament, and that's exactly what they do.
The layout looks different if you ask me, but it's a bulletin board, and most of them look identically, that's nothing to be ashamed of. I don't get your rant about the site? I think it has become a good competition, and competition should be a good thing right?

I dunno... The release layout does look ripped off the GBATemp layout

The release page looks like GBATemp's old release page... In addition, their rom release items on the news page look exactly the same too.

I think someone already mentioned GBArl. Yeah, I visit it regularly. A good alternative I suppose.

If you're interested in homebrew, GBAdev is good I guess. If you're interested in a specific kind of homebrew like Moonshell (one of the best homebrew applications of all time, BTW), check out GBATMW. It has everything you need to know about BatchDPG and Moonshell.

Costello you are kidding right... ?
DS-Scene and Wii.DS-Scene are mostly about Homebrews, thats why they have such a big database with almost every application, game ever made, and not only that but you can search them on the database (that is very well done btw) and download them in direct download, not like you guys that only host some, and sometimes only the most known... pretty good for less known homebrewers right ? (IRONY)

They came up with the homebrew database when they appeared, but when they turned known you coppied them... and you are talking about they only wanting Free Samples ? Noo... you guys dont want them, oh i forgot... you give them to poor children so they dont die starving (IRONY AGAIN)

They are one of the best sites ever, they even give the review samples in tournaments, etc
