isnt 200cc already unlocked too? xD
200cc is really hard to master, at least in my case, I can't get it right. This racing speed mode requires precision and timing and the use of the A/B buttons which I've not gotten used to in a Mario Kart game. Excite Bike stage on 200cc is awesome. :)

The Bowser rainy stage could be loads of fun in 200cc and is for those that can play it properly but nah, I can't. I always fall off. xP

Even on 150cc, Neo Bowser City can be rough with a vehicle that doesn't swing out as you turn. Brakes are necessary on 200c. You don't have to go full braking though. I generally do as little as tapping if that's all I need, and doing it while drifting with a standard bike gets me around those harder turns with the drift boost following.

I think it's fun to unlock characters and stuff, and I actually think it's a good way to teach the player the game. Give them an all-round character that's good enough for the easiest levels, to get a feel for every aspect. Then unlock a high speed one, try that one out, unlock a heavy one, try that... Well, for a racing game it maybe isn't a big deal, but I found it to be fun in Super Smash Bros. to unlock new characters by being forced playing the others. It made me go through most play styles, and had a lot of fun. In the Wii U there weren't as many to unlock, with more available at the start... and it wasn't quite as fun in my opinion.

I suppose Nintendo wanted to please the players who had mk8 already and wished not to unlock everything again, but then why have karts and parts be unlockable then? Just seems off to me.

I've played this stage on 150cc to death so gotten well used to it, except when using mushrooms or the star, with either of those two items I'd still fall off the track. :P
