the wiki has been updated for 1.6 rc1.

• added info to the tabs section and cleaned it up as someone and edited it and moved stuff to the wrong section
• fixed all the links and uploaded the firmware to file trip
• removed the dead skinz links
• added/removed/cleaned-up stuff in the faq section
• added a few lines to the wifi section to reflect some recent changes
• fixed up the globalsettings.ini by removing dead settings and adding in a new one
• added YWG to the contributers list
• removed working stuff from the "to-do" list

vatoloco/merc
• worked on the images, new 1.6 shots are up (finally we can upload to the wiki again after more than a year)
• removed the ak+ image as that cart is no longer supported

Not directly related to AKAIO but just thought I'll tell you I've added a simple Acekard R.P.G WIKI page that was non-existing before and added some info on the Acekard 2 WIKI Page (where there was only a 'stub' there originally)

If you want to add anything - knock yourself out !!

Oh & I've also added a version of my 'guide to skin making' post to the skinning section on the 'AKAIO Advanced "How to" guide' which only had 'coming soon' originally

if you want, add links to the akaio wiki at the bottom in the "links" section for all 3 of these pages.

Odd... I updated my loader (formerly using AKAIO 1.5.1) to the latest, and now I get two white screens upon booting any NDS game. Downgrading to 1.5.1 fixed the problem, but I had to downgrade ALL of AKAIO, despite only updating the loaders. Any insight on that?

QUOTE1.6 can only use loaders that came with 1.6 and any loaders that come out from now on, until 1.7 which might again use a new loader encryption. You can, in no way, what-so-ever, use the 1.5.1 or previous loaders with 1.6.
it also means they can't be used the other way round either - 1.6 loaders cannot be used in 1.5(.1)

the hwid's for various acekard builds have been added to the FAQ section of the wiki. if you own a card, which has missing information, please add the hwid.

you can get the hwid by running akaio. goto the "help" menu. it will be displayed on that menu. if you do not want to edit the wiki then PM me your results. i might challenge you buy asking some questions about your acekard.

[edit]
we are only missing the blue pcb ak2.1. i heard rumor of an ak2 blue pcb that was stickered as the ak2. this could be a confused user or a wrong sticker. if anyone can verify this let me know.

there is another rumor of a blue pcb ak2i, which i have not seen. if anyone has one of these, akaio 1.6 rc2 is working on it, and they can confirm it is not a clone, would you please let me know the hwid of it?

there was a rumor of the ak2i hw44 with a different chip (a clone). i'd love to know the pcb color and see images of the chip.

Added a guide to updating to 1.4 http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/index.php?tit...dating_to_FW1.4

May do a full setting up guide ripped from my thread if I can be arsed.I've added a link to this onto the Acekard 2 WIKI page

And WOW... isn't the AKAIO WIKI getting a little looooong now ?? - by my reckoning it's about 23 screen heights 'high'

Can't we organise it a little better - perhaps putting sections into other WIKI pages (like the 'FAQ' onto a 'AKAIO_FAQ' and 'Globalsetting.ini' onto a 'AKAIO_GlobalSettings' ??)
A bit like the 'AKAIO_Howto' page ??

Before I make an attempt - anyone got comments on this ??

@tk_saturn: quick question - do you know what might happen if you try updating a ak2.1
There's some1 on AKAIO forums that - IMHO - may have a mis-stickied ak2.1 (It's got a ak2i sticker but the HW etc SEEMS to be that of a ak2.1)

QUOTEAcekard 2i HW: 80 SVN: 824 Black PCB with Actel Chip,Currently running Akaio 1.6 RC2....

....Yes, it's an 48pin chip, works fine with RC2, but Wario Ware D.I.Y. turns to a Black Screen after you draw the monster and battle it.....
...I'm currently using in DS Lite, cause I accidentally turned my DSi firmware into 1.4J before updating the AceKard 2i with the DSi patch....

Personally i'd strip out the sections into their own page and then transclude them back in. Then build on it from there.

What you really need is an Acekard/ AKAIO subcategory in the slot-1 catagory

You will get QUOTEAK2i FIRMWARE UPDATE(14-29)
CHIP ID:0fc2 HW:8080
This catridge can't be updated
appear on the blue screen

(including the spelling error)

The same applies to the clone HW80 Acekard 2i, it's pretty obvious they are clones of the Acekard 2/2.1 fudged with the Acekard 2i update. Hence why they appear as "Acekard 2" instead of "Acekard 2i" in the DS Lite's menu.

The images are of a clone, you can tell by the PCB layout. Some seem to get away with them on a DSL, This is because it may be difficult for AKAIO to identify them as a clone when running on a DSL. But on a DSi it will be a piece of cake for AKAIO to block them.

The card is 100% a clone, it is not an Acekard 2.1 with an Acekard 2i sticker on.

Because they have access to genuine labels, it will only be a matter of time before they also start labelling and selling them as Acekard 2.1's too,

Various people have AKAIO 1.6RC1/RC2 running on these clone carts, but only on DSL's or DSP's, they then take these to be genuine carts. It doesn't change anything, they are still clones.

The reason why the run on DSL's is the post above, and it's this reason they have the same HWID as genuine Acekard 2.1's.

It confirms that RHS were talking BS, as these aren't based on the the first Acekard 2i. If you compare your HW44 to the clone, you will see the casing and PCB layout are very different.

ALL genuine Acekard 2i's have the SST memory chip, the clones have the Spansion memory chip just like most Acekard 2.1's.
