    Is it possible for an AK2 with AKAIO 1.1r2 to read a text(.txt) file? I'm thinking of storing some FAQs on the microSD card and read the FAQs with the DS.

    If not, do I need to install any other apps(homebrew) to do that? Thx!

    Yep.

    You can install DS Reader or something like that. It's also pretty good.

    AKAIO has .txt support built in, so you can just put them on your card and select them in the menu (similarly you can play mp3s and dsm videos)

    Though some other homebrew readers may have more features...

    Cool! I've actually never venture into the homebrew world yet. This will be a good time to start.

    Where do I install homebrew with AKAIO(file structure)?

    Homebrew works like any other games, put the .nds wherever you like, and put the accompanying folders (if any) on the root.

    The built in support is really useful, as you can press start to return to the AK menu (soft-reset doesn't work with homebrew... yet)

    A good feature about this the built-in text reader in AKAIO 1.1r2 is that wherever you left off, the next time you read the file, that's where it'll be. Pretty useful for FAQs (like from GameFAQ).

    speaking of the textreaderplugin.. uhh.. did anyone happen to grab the source of it before bliss deleted his stuff?
    or did he just not release the TXTViewer plugin source at the end?

    Read the README of the homebrew.

    The AKAIO already has plugins to play TXT, MP3, DSM, etc.

    Doesn't DSOrganize let you read text files?

    I know you can get back to the menu from DSOrganize if you add a shortcut to the "home" folder that points back to the Acekard menu (an icon will appear on the third page of DSOrganize that will launch the flash cart menu).

    In the DSOrganize "HOME" folder add a file named "akmenu.dss" that looks like this:

    Code:
    DSOSHORTCUT
    name=AKMenu
    file=/akmenu4.nds

    it has basic framework for making a 3rd-party program but maintaining the usage of the AK buttons and whatnot.

    before I take a lot of time dissecting what i'd need to use from the AKAIO sources to just have buttons and basic AK routines, I'd like to believe the sources to the TXTViewer at least came out once.
