hi , it's not that difficult the basic idee is you already copy the game(s) to the ext hdd in the games folder; updates in the updates folder
after that if you run app2usb it wil just syslink the games that means it wil redirect the link to the external and delete the one on your internal.
make sure you setup the ini file correct. move mode (last option ) has to be unchecked so u can use the list for games you want to copy/move
    IGNORE_UPDATES;MOVE_DLC;MODE_MOVE all unchecked.
the ini file i put on the root and in the games folder on the usb because i don't know for sure witch one is correct
1 copy from pc to hdd( i do it twice 1 on root 1 in games folder, same with dlc and updates)
2 setup ini file cusa-id in move list
    3 install on ps4 internal
4 run the app2usb payload it wil skip copying the game and link it
5 delete the games on the root of your ext usb hdd
    it should be good now
modded warfare (youtube) has a tut on that (older version, less options) but the method is the same
-some games like gow have been reported to refusing to move for an unknown reason .
    hope this helps a bit

PSA: Don't dump a disc that's installed to external. I didn't have enough space on my internal so I did this and it restarted my PS4 and I lost 2 TB of games on my external. Hoping I can use db_rebuilder but it's meant for internal only.

Well nm I was thinking I was screwed but I just ran Mira No HB, it didn't work and the PS4 shutdown, then it rebuild system storage agan and my games work. Got lucky. Best system crash I ever had right there.

I made a post several pages back where I had to do it. I don't know if this is the same as the one I used where they changed a few lines of code. Anyway it worked to get my games back but I cannot see my games in storage anymore, or delete them even off the main menu. I had to ftp to delete a game, and that sucks because the icon of the game stays on the main screen.

But I did also try apptousb and changed my mind while it was transfering internal games to exteral I think that might have conflicted with db_rebuilder and might be why I can't see my games in storage or delete them. By some miracle though they work still.

If you rebuild database in recovery it will remove the fpkgs from the main screen although they will still be on the hard drive. You have to use this with python and ftp to fix it.

Not sure if I'm missing something here, with my properly formated and mounted 3tb hard drive used as extended storage, I cannot install any FPKGs at all, comes up with an error. As soon as I unmount it I can install to the internal drive till my hearts content.

Does the Mira No hb payload on Als DNS not allow for extended storage?

You can't install this way yet. The only method that works to external is remote package installer. It's faster anyway. I made a tutorial there's actually two methods you can use if you go down a few posts you could also install the store either way you can install from computer to external no problem. I have installed like 80 games this way already on 6.72. https://gbatemp.net/threads/install...or-less-with-remote-package-installer.570371/

Many thanks guys, thought I was going mad, the momentum of updates to the JB/functions have made me lose track of were we are at

Gonna have a play with this.

Running this from my NAS via a docker package would be perfect for my setup.

Okay so this is misinformation at its peak lol I have tried using it SEVERAL times on several different computers as I was having a similar issue where I manually rebuilt my database using recovery mode and it deleted my couple games. So this tool only works if you have already generated a database using said tool, if you hadn't, and you did what I did, IT WILL NOT WORK.
