Well depends on what you want (and it's very hart to get a dstwo these days for a raisonable price). The 3in1 has better GBA game support, it has rumble and RAM Expansion. Dstwo and r4i gold have equal DS compatibility but dstwo has some enhanced Software like some special cheat functions, an avi player and a SNES Emulator.

well, i did once to beat last few levels of Ninja Five-O because it was damn impossibly hard
i feel guilt to this day

I was implying 1 to 1 SCDS2 vs R4. I had already stated, SCDS2 + 3in1 was the ideal way to go.

2. The second one is a bit larger and fits into the original DS. But I think it has a bit less storage than newer lite only versions.

Yes, the card fits into DS lite but I don't know of any shop that sells it from canada. I can only suggest you chinese shops.

i'll buy it too soon, i am from Europe,
also i think no matter what site you buy it from, they will ship from Asia.
for example, this German site that sells it, they ship from Singapore.

also, be sure to buy this version: R4i Gold 3DS RTS (r4ids.cn)
because there is many versions of R4 out there and this one is the best.

If you don't mind soldering and Using GBA Exploader instead of a having "native" GBA support from the stock launcher I recommend an Acekard 2i and an M3 GBA Expansion pack but given the age of the GBA expansion pack all of them have dead batteries.

Less that $15 for a great slot 2 solution even has RTC if your into the games that use RTC.

And the ackard can be picked up for ~$25 at various questionable online retailer i bought mine from New3DSCard and my credit card was overcharge around 10% (I think that when they charge the card the prices are not actually in USD but rather a Chinese currency and fluctuations in the conversion rate make the estimated USD price on the website off)

Although from my understanding almost any slot 1 card will work well I just have experience with the Acekard.

Recently I bought an Acekard 2i and ran into it somewhat infamous build quality issues, where I'd usually have to start my DS 3 or 4 times before it would actually read the card.

So I'd recommend against it. I've since gotten an R4i Gold 3DS RTS and have had no such issues, but I also here the Acekard 2.1 does not suffer from these contact issues the 2i suffers from.
