With Atmosphere is it reasonable to expect additional system options to customize the OS?

By this I mean an option to turn off the update nag, GUI modifications, etc. all locally from an additional system menu.

Try not to flame if this has already been addressed. You all know as well as I do that there are million and one posts and even searching would return nothing of substantial use at this point.

Yes and no. I think you'll be able to do all these things and more using Atmosphere, but rather than giving you options for them, I think they'll all be done using some form of "plugin" system, kind of like how we have layeredFS mods for games or kip modules for Hekate. Atmosphere would let us have a similar module system for Horizon, and devs could make and release their own modules.

I haven't even looked at Atmosphere's source code, I'm just assuming that this is something we'll eventually have.

yeah the switch OS is kinda bland though I do love how quick and snappy it is seeing the wiiu would take up to 20 seconds to load settings
Huh, for some reason I kinda like the UI's aesthetics and colors despite its lacking features and blandness, most notably in the black theme.

Also 20 settings just to load settings is just horrible optimization lmao did that ever get fixed in a patch?

It still takes long to get into Settings but compared to the beginning... AGES to get into settings. xD

I'd be great to add Wii music to homescreen. Also make folders, add Homebrew as tiles on the homescreen, and change number of rows of tiles, similar to the 3ds.

Yeah I know the OS is not android but I remember the days of running a custom android OS and you would always get a ton of additional options and customization. Just was speculating to see if it were even possible on the Switch.

I never hacked my Ds so I’m not super familiar with the level of customization.

I want custom themes, a nice boot screen or animated screen, file explorer, temperature gauges and a few file loading built-in like XBMC for opening pics\vids\music :)

But 1st we have to wait for a full official atmosphere release, then probably with the fact that is open source ppl will keep changing and adding stuff all over the internet.
