Previously I wanted to buy a 4GB ADATA instead of my current class 6 Transcend. This is because despite being cls 6 Transcend still lags, while a 4GB ADATA I tried from someone didn't lag at all despite being formatted FAT32. I've recently come across 8GB ADATA TURBO microSDHC. Previously I was avoiding 8GB memories because I knew there were no class 6 ones. The ADATA 8GB TURBO is a class 4, but has anyone tried the DoS intro on one to see if it lags? TIA.

I don't know wether to trust classes or not anymore. Since a class 6 Transcend was BARELY any better than my class 4 Kingmax and yet I saw ADATA beat it. I believe a Turbo class 4 ADATA could very well be better than a class 6 Transcend.

Pfft, then why's it being discussed on DS flashcart forums more than anywhere else? =\ I agree it's kinda mythified, it means much less to performance than it's rated to. If I get my hands on a class 4 8GB ADATA and it happens not to lag I'm going to suggest a serious rethink about the way flashcart users are informed of their microSD performance... a rethink in which CLASS has a much lesser role.

its discussed here as its important to get a 'fast' card
higher class is likely to have higher success but thats not a given
for read/write speeds an 8gb sandisk is quite a bit faster than the class 6 adata but its random access time is far inferior
i guess word of mouth and random access times results of cards is better than just class rating but you cant always get good answers so have to go by specs

So what Castlevania DoS intro and PoR game need is fast random access time, not r/w speed, am I right?
Yup that's true, but you may still need decent r/w speed.

id have thought gameplay would have been the access time part and read/write the movies but dunno really maybe a combo

How's this for a shocker?
I have a class 2 Sandisk running on Acekard 2 and neither the intro movie from Castlevania DoS or PoR show ANY lag. What's more, I've put over 6 hours into each game and had absolutely zero lockups, freezes or glitches.

I am however getting dropouts on Mario Kart multiplayer. (see thread)

I'm surprised because I didn't expect memories of this size to actually work without any lag, especially on the AK2 which seems to be more speed-demanding than other carts.

Random access is what matters for DS games (as has been pointed out)

The Class is decided by block reads/writes, and is not really useful for flashcart users.
