I didn't see it here, so thought I would post...

[TOOL] Pre-Activated User Backup
Credit goes to Broka ... Allows you to run many apps, plus ps4 profile is activated.

NB: THIS WILL WIPE YOUR CONSOLE (INCLUDING YOUR CURRENT PROFILE AND SAVES). I DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILTY FOR LOSS OF DATA....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Q. Why do I need an activated psn profile?
A. An activated psn profile will unlock the 'save game copy feature' and also allow apps which do not require a PSN connection to run (i.e LittlStar VR).

Instructions: Make sure your console is on firmware 5.05 before attempting to restore this activated profile.
1). Extract and copy the 'PS4' folder to your (exfat formatted) external HDD.

2.) Run Hen, then plug the HDD in to your PS4.

3). Go to Settings, System, Back Up and Restore.

4). Choose 'Restore', you should see '201807092118_00 - PS4 Hacked (5.05) v2 UK', select this.

5). Finally, hit 'Yes' at the next prompt screen. The PS4 will then proceed restart and wipe your console, whilst restoring the activated profile.

Many people confirmed on that reddit that it works. Right now, I have quite a few games installed on my PS4, so won't be able to personally check it out. But this is a step in the right direction. Being able to save on a USB pen drive is FANTASTIC!

Discuss :)

Edit: I of course can't share the link here. But it should be very easy to find. Just Google any of the above info and you'll get it :)

Thanks for the info. I made a video about the install process. for some reason there's not enough exposure on the PAUB Tool.

I tried this activated ps4 profile on my 5.07 firmware PS4 and result is successfully.
Everything works great. This is an activated account and now, I can copy the save files to USB directly.
And now (with this activated profile) save wizard is working correctly with game save files.
Previously, it wasn't working correctly with my non-activated local account.

There is one small problem for me. The library icon missing on main menu.
Does anyone know How can I bring back library icon to main menu?
I guess library fpkg needed for library icon back. Thanks for helping.

If it's the activated profile that has the modded home screen crap you can go into safe mode and rebuild datatbase. That will return things to default again. (You are best doing this straight after you have installed the activated profile, before you start installing games again.)

Or you can manually edit your app.db to make the library visible again.
I think it is NPXS20111, change 'visible' from 0 to 1.

Thank you very much. The rebuild database process in safe mode is worked. :)

does this work with 6.72 ps4? I got a new ps4 that I am going to update to 6.72. I want to be able to backup my save games. is this activated profile still the way to go or is there some other better method ?

Thanks for the info, this just saved me a major headache of updating to 6.72. I want to but gonna have to stay at 5.05 until.

What about using the profile activator? I am trying to remember the author. Although I know that Leeful added some supporting scripts to it and shared it as a bundle. I just can’t remember the original author.

Yes, that looks like it. We used to run the activated profile from this thread, then I setup separate IDs for the family and activated them using that tool. I even went so far as to create and inject new avatars for everyone and they are working fine so far.

EDIT: Not 100% sure if it still works on 6.72, but personally I found it to be a better solution than restoring the activated profile in this thread.

@Leeful / @KiiWii
One thing I have been searching for is the file system location for the wallpapers. They do not appear to be in the profile folder with the avatars. Any ideas? Those would "complete" the set up the activated profile for us. Thanks.

if you mean afterwards, this wipes the drive including saves and profiles.

in my case rebuilding my database after games were installed caused my games to disappear but you can restore them using the instructions in this video i made. Just did it all went well

Yes, that will happen every time (if you have games installed). You should never rebuild the db from safe mode if you have games installed.

I was replying the post before who had just installed the modified activated profile by extremegamer that was going around before it was possible to activate your profile yourself.
If anyone installed that profile the home screen would look modified and the library icon would be removed from the home screen.
Rebuilding the db from safe mode would fix that and make things look normal again. It didnt matter then because to install that profile you had to initialise so you would not have any games installed anway.

RE the db_rebuld script, It great news that it has been modified to work on 6.72 but are the underlying issues with it still there on 6.72?

The issues I'm talking about are that when you use it, it all looks good at first but then you have problems because you cannot delete your games anymore.
If you have not run a certain game yet, the option to delete it is still there but once you have run that game the option to delete it dissapears.
To fix this problem you have to manually edit the app.db and change cannotRemove for that game from 0 to 1.

You said you have just run this script so can you check and see if the problem is still there on 6.72 please.
Just press the options button on one of the games you have already run on 6.72 and check if the option to delete it is there.
Thanks,:)

sorry just woke up. when i press options the option to delete is there.

I posted what happened cause i swear i never knew you could remove their edits to the profile (been trying to ages) and when i learned there was a way i said sure (since I also knew how to restore my games) this way if you are someone on 6.72 who already had alot of games with their profile i could know if this would work. This ps4 is like a test ps4 for experimenting and it didn't matter to me if something went wrong...so why not i figured! In the name of science hahaha
