Hacking Action Replay Codes [need help]

ive had my R4 for about 4 weeks now

and ive decided to use the action replay for some fun in a few games

but for some reason i cannot get the cheat (y) menu to show up

i have followed all the steps shown on this sites tutorial and the instructrions given with the R4 Cd

ive put my usrcheat.dat file in the _system_ folder with my CHEAT.dat file but it still does not come up with the cheat (y) menu when i start my R4... my friend who also has a R4 works just fine for him... but it does not work for me

can any body help me? ive been trying for days to get it to work so put me out of my misery

You need firmware 1.08 or higher:

um kinnda dosent help :S

ive downloaded every updated thing....

i have my usrcheat.dat file in my _system_ folder and nothing still appears when i load my R4 ive used the files that came with the R4 still nothing and ive used my own that i got from the action re-play and still nothing.... so really wtf

*Cheat.dat in _system_
*made sure game ids are the same
*made sure its for the right game

* still not working

Try removing the cheat.dat file so you only have the usrcheat.dat in the system folder.

did u put the correct id of the game in the cheat editor?
try this http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=441, it has most of the code junkies cheat codes.

Did you try opening up Notepad and creating a blank document and renaming it Cheat.DAT and overwriting the old one? That way it only looks at the usrcheat.DAT for the cheats.

Sometimes the 2 can cause conflict.
