AceKard has released the source for AceKard RPG

Just noticed that AceKard has released the source for their loader on AceKard RPG.
You can download it directly from their homepage.
I've looked through a bit, it seems like the source is complete and it should be compilable (haven't tried that yet).
Prepare for some Chinese comments in the source files, if any fork/branch is released, these need to be translated...

Yes, an interesting thought is making this work on other cards, like R4.
I'm pretty sure it should be possible, but I'm no expert.

According to the readme file, they are planning to make an SVN server, it seems as if they listened to us (I at least mailed them about that and some other things).

wii_DS is.... pwned? lol anywaiz Acekard said that they were goin open source and that they made the R.P.G based on customer requests, so i guess asking them to make an SVN server would work. Wonder how many noobs asked for GBA support? We should've asked for EZ 3in1 support, or maybe i'll work on a custom firmware?

That's not as bad as a firmware bricker. The scenario above is kind of like memory corruption, and that's not too bad >_>

Why?

Custom firmwares (in the past) offer booting of backed-up games. This does it natively.

Among other things, consider this;
Being able to launch gameboy/gameboy color games without launching lameboy first.
Being able to view pictures and media by perhaps integrating moonshell into the os.
Inofficial firmwares with auto-patching of faulty games without waiting for AceKard to release a new firmware update.
Integrating homebrews like DSLiveWeather so you can see the weather without having to start it, there could be some icons in a discrete location.
Having a "favorite" place where you can launch starred roms fast (think gmail).
Auto-mail notifications thanks to DSMail integration.

Anyway, these are just examples, hope some of them will go true.
